Scott brown on nearly signing for rangers

Was it not the case his agent said another £500 per week and he signs for Rangers. And minty or Bain said no

Ha ha ha. The truth is his agent begged us to take him on reduced terms ( less than shelic offering) at the same time as ST but we never offered him a deal. That’s why he is bitter towards us

As per earlier post I was told another 2k a week and Bain couldn’t decide.
Was probably running late for a subbed session.

Some roaster on the RC phone-in last night laughing about how it's ten years since big DJ got it wrong and that he hasn't stopped reminding him of it ever since. Well, I remember the day we dodged the bullet and the Tims were gloating and goading the big man. Our stalwart simply retorted that he'd had it on the best authority that Brown had shaken hands on the deal and then renegade when the Beggars offered more money.
Thank God his word wasn't his bond.

I don’t get why I should care what that irrelevance thinks. He’s nothing, always has been, always will be.

Anyone remember the supposed ‘in the know’ poster on here at the time who was absolutely adamant he was signing for us?

Went on for weeks and even when it became clear the filth were offering more this guy was reiterating Broon was coming to us and it was all done and dusted.

He got more and more irate with other posters for suggesting Celtic looked to have won the race for him. Culminating in someone eventually posting the confirmation of him signing for them upon which our poster said “I’m off to make a phone call” and was never seen again.
I mind the thread. Vaguely.

Main quote out of it was:

"I went to London, I meet Gordon & Peter - we had a chat. I go to Dermot's house, he has maids! I'm thinking this is good

"Gordon wanted to build the team around me, Peter was phenomenal

"Then I get a text to go meet Rangers, so I met them - in a car park!

" I thought F*** me"

That's not what he said at the time.

I was told by a very good friend of his that Celtic bid £4.4million and Rangers had bid £2.5million so there was never a decision to be made. The figures might not be exact but they aren't far off.

He wasn't far off. I was also told him to Rangers was a "done deal" by someone very close to him. As I said, in reply to another post, the decision was taken out of his hands as we never agreed a fee with Hibs.

And so he sold his soul for the 19th Century Terrorist punt ...

Strange he finds people working in subservient jobs a turn on. Says it all about the retard

Rangers under Murray and Smith had a history of sending private jets, the manager door stepping signing targets and inviting players to Murray’s offices.

The idea that Rangers would have wanted to meet someone in a car park is ludicrous.
Unless you are desperate to reinvent a bit of history with Celtic managers and car parks of course.

Come to think of it... the Celtic captain fawning over someone having maids kind of falls foul of the whole social charter/living wage/Socialist message their club and supporters peddle.

Another snide comment.
As i said, who needs enemies
Not trying to be snide nor an enemy.
But why open a thread on Scott Brown then post “mmm another Scott Brown thread” , don’t like the title don’t open , leave it to those who wish to contribute.

We didn't make him an offer.

I was told that directly from him at the time.

Ex football fwiend.
A guy I work with was his neighbour in Livingston. My colleague (Gers fan) asked Broony why he didn't go to Rangers and he said Smith didnae fancy him.

He's a classless c%nt
Im glad he didn't sign for us
Imagine hero worshiping that cockwomble

So if I think there are too many Broon threads, where should I state my opinion?? Should I start a new thread???
And you are trying to be snide with your snide comments, who needs Timmy with Bears like you

Don’t like Broon threads don’t open them would have thought it was simple.

This from a club who wouldn’t speak to a key signing target, instead opting to put pressure on the young man through his grandparent.

This while a (at the time) championship team rolled the red carpet out.

It’s obvious who it is - and thankfully they lost out because of how they went about things.

Was it the same car park that Billy McNeill met Jack McGinn to discuss and offer him the post as Celtic manager when Davie Hay was still in the hot seat?
I came on to post that. McNeill stole that job from his so called mate in the car park of Radio Clyde. You really couldn’t make it up.

I remember DJ saying Brown was a done deal for Rangers for months on Superscoreboard right up until he was confirmed for them.

Rewind 8 to 10 years ago when Brown would have been coming up against the likes of Ferguson, Thompson, Hemdani, Davis and try really hard to recall a single game where he was the dominant force against proper opposition.
I still smile at the media reports running up to that game. Brown is going to do this, that and the other to Barry Ferguson. Barry took him to school that day and humiliated Brown and his team mates.
