A very strong list of remaining teams. Cupar grinding it out again today. Greig park are very strong this year they beat Cupar in the league not long ago. Steins also looking very good going by their results.6th round today holders Cupar Hearts through to the quarter finals beating Dinamo Paisley 4-2 after being 2-0 down, the other Fife Greig Park Rangers take Drumchapel to a replay after drawing 3-3
Yep great competition this year Gazzah I wouldn't like to call it tbhA very strong list of remaining teams. Cupar grinding it out again today. Greig park are very strong this year they beat Cupar in the league not long ago. Steins also looking very good going by their results.
Drumchapel Amateurs or Drumchapel Utd?6th round today holders Cupar Hearts through to the quarter finals beating Dinamo Paisley 4-2 after being 2-0 down, the other Fife Greig Park Rangers take Drumchapel to a replay after drawing 3-3

On their day they can be a very good team and the striker (Grant) is a class act. They defeated us (Oban) earlier in the season but we had a very young team out with the majority being late teens/early 20s so difficult to say. What are Greenock like looks another tough away day for Cupar
I’m sure bannockburn won it three times in a row back in the 80/90s ?Drumchapel Amateurs.
EKYM v St Joseph’s replay next week will be a cracker, drew 1-1 yesterday.
Pather through v Glenburn yesterday, will likely play Shortlees.
Steins, as mentioned above, look very strong.
St Patrick’s also still there.
I think I’m right in saying if Cupar win it this year they’ll become only the second team ever to win it 3 years in a row, the other being Murrayfield AFC in the 1920/1930s.
Bannockburn have never won it in successive years.I’m sure bannockburn won it three times in a row back in the 80/90s ?
Did they not meet at the same stage in last year's cup? What are Greenock like looks another tough away day for Cupar
Hopefully see St Joes v The DrumQuarter Final Draw
Greenock HSFP v Cupar Hearts
St Patrick’s FP AFC v Steins Thistle
East Kilbride YM or St Joseph’s v
Greig Park Rangers or Drumchapel Amateurs
FC Pather or Shortlees v Dunblane SC or Alva
Think you may be right mateDid they not meet at the same stage in last year's cup?
Personally, I think it’ll be EKYM v Greig Park Rangers.Hopefully see St Joes v The Drum
Would be an absolute cracker with a big crowd.
Greig Park seemingly a right good team this year a few Leven United players left and went to them this seasonPersonally, I think it’ll be EKYM v Greig Park Rangers.
I agree with you on all of this. I don’t think Dunblane or Alva can get anywhere near Pather or Shortlees. I also think Drum are a bit weaker than the rest but have saved their best performances for the Scottish.standard of teams in the quarters this year is much higher than in previous years. Only really the two Stirling area sides Dunblane/Alva stick out as being real weak links.
Heard Steins have applied to the EOS for the forthcoming season.
That’s correct mate, gave Cupar a bit of a doing a few weeks ago. I watched them against Steins last season and was impressed with them.Greig Park seemingly a right good team this year a few Leven United players left and went to them this season
Don’t write off the DrumPersonally, I think it’ll be EKYM v Greig Park Rangers.
Greig Park seemingly gave up home advantage 2 hours before ko and the game got played at Bayview according to my mateQuarter Final draw updated in post 8.
Really surprised at Drum result today but well done to them.
I watch Greenock HSFP beat Galston 2-0 in the West of Scotland cup today. That team won’t beat Cupar. Davie Grant was missing though and he’ll make a huge difference to them.
Game was listed as Bayview last night. Possibly before.Greig Park seemingly gave up home advantage 2 hours before ko and the game got played at Bayview according to my mate
Match 1st mate. St Joes are considerably better than Drum. When’s the quarter finals being played, the St. Joes v Drum is one I’d go and watch if we’re not playing same day.
I’m sure bannockburn won it three times in a row back in the 80/90s ?
That game will be a battle. I played and briefly coached the Drum with the St Joes manager.Match 1st mate. St Joes are considerably better than Drum.
I disagree mate. If the game was at the Hibby, it could be a bit of a leveller but I think St Joe’s will be comfortable. I’ve seen both teams a few times this season, Drum have ranged from below average to ok.That game will be a battle. I played and briefly coached the Drum with the St Joes manager.
St Joes are a good team but they aren’t considerably better at all.
Who's the winner this year Rossco?I disagree mate. If the game was at the Hibby, it could be a bit of a leveller but I think St Joe’s will be comfortable. I’ve seen both teams a few times this season, Drum have ranged from below average to ok.
As I’ve said before, they’ve kept their best for the Scottish so hopefully they’re up to it in the quarters.
I haven’t seen Cupar, they’re the only team left I haven’t seen. I like the look of Steins, they’re good all over the park, strong physically and have a couple of players that can make a big difference.Who's the winner this year Rossco?
Dunblane have done fantasically well getting to this stage but will get horsed off Pather in the next round. Path£r have a good squad so will fancy their chances. Personally haven’t seen them this season.
Although both decent sides, Greenock and Drumchapel don’t have the overall strength to win it IMO.
St Pats and Steins is the tie of the round for me, whoever wins will be well placed to go on and win it with their big squads they can rest/rotate players as the fixtures pile up.
St Joes have been the form team in the West all season. Cupar have the recent pedigree in the cup but another team I very rarely get to see.
St Joes to win. A Cupar 3-peat would be incredible.
Where are Pather from?I think at St Pat’s will be delighted to get Steins at home. Think Steins would be far too strong for them at Allandale.
I think St Joes are just a wee bit short of the quality they’d need to win it. A couple of brilliant individuals but not enough to win it IMO.
Pather will fancy their chances, without doubt and the draw has been kind to them.
Where are Pather from?
The club is the same folk but not sure howPather/Wishaw.
I'm guessing this is the Pather Sunday team from a few years ago who shared a lot of players with Wishaw from Saturday amateurs at the time?
It’s not just the afternoon that’s been hit, it’s amateur football across the board. Steins have a dilemma if their application for EoS is unsuccessful with the Central looking like merging with the colleges morning league. Steins will have no interest in that. I’m not sure some of the Pather players will fancy it either. The club is the same folk but not sure how
Many are still there as they signed a lot of boys. Some very strong teams left this year definitely the top 4/5 clubs in the ammies remaining. Steins last chance to win it before going EOS as looking at the central league be lucky to have a league next year. Afternoon games been very heavily decimated over the last 6/7 years .

I agree, to an extent. I’ve been an advocate of the afternoon amateur leagues moving to midday kick off, rather than the traditional 2pm.The expansion of the juniors into "the pyramid" along with the associated u20s conferences is killing amateur football.
I know if i had my time again and I could be 19 and play Friday nights for a junior u20s team or play Saturfay afternoons for an amateur side, what option looks more appealing?
I've been involved at all levels- SPFL, junior and amateur and imo amateur can only survive by moving to morning football. In fact, I think it'd thrive there. Saturday morning amateur is an easier sell. I've been on both sides of that fence- at a Saturday morning team and trying to convince mates from Junior to come there with the promise that you get your game out the way and Saturday to yourself. While I've also been in the Junior game trying to convince Saturday morning players that playing at the higher level is better.
I'd say selling them the idea of having their Saturday back was easier.

I had the conversation only this week with a few boys about the morning leagues becoming the main attraction but I just can’t see it. It’s been threatening to happen for years but, ultimately, the top morning teams are a flash in the pan. UB United, Tynecastle, Tannochside all recent examples of the is in the west.
Over 35s (Friday nights) hasn’t helped the amateur game either.
2pm ruins the whole day now and it’s harder to keep boys interested especially the younger ones. We have been going 20 years and this is the worst it’s been. Stirling district down to 7 teams so that will be gone after May. The less travel the better for us but looks like no moves on so we will move to 35s.As a current player I don’t really have much of an issue with 2pm KOs - living in Stirling a Sat AM league isn’t an option anyway - but when we do on the odd occasion play at 1 or even more rarely 12 the general consensus in the team is that those times are much better with finishing early and having more of a Saturday left after it.
Think the option should be given to clubs at the very least.
