John Brown without question should have been capped

The biggest outrage in terms of national selection. Mike Galloway was given a cap during the period Bomber was operating at the top level.

Ian Redford won 6 under 21 caps but never a full cap.

Given that BJK was almost as cap-happy as Bertie Vogts, I think there is a case for a cap or two.

Ally Dawson was capped on the Canada / North America tour of the early eighties of memory serves me right.

He got 1 cap in a friendly I believe

Switzerland I think. Don't know if Bobby McKean got called up for that one as well.

But there is also the you'll never win anything with kids attitude with many a young player not chosen because experience wins games. See Paterson, gilmour just now. Unless of course you think "theres a buzz about the place"

I think I'm right in saying Tommy McLean got all his Scotland caps as a Kilmarnock player and never again played for Scotland after he played for Rangers.

Considering what he achieved at Ibrox and how good a player he was, that is incredible.
