Scumdee utd furlough players and staff

'While acknowledging that Uefa will likely influence how the current campaign is concluded, Brannigan says "there has been too much invested" in this term for United not be promoted.

Robbie Neilson's side are currently 14 points clear at the summit of the second tier after a four-season exile.

"Promotion back to the Premiership was our aim and that will not change, however it is achieved," Brannigan added.' Chief executive Mal Brannigan

And there you have the mindset of the Borg.

I wonder what wee jum has to say about this. Do you remember him crowing about how good their finances were? He specifically mentioned how well run they are and that they would be safeguarded for years to come. I wish them nothing but misery.

By overspending and then getting the government to bail them out. Seems very sporting.

They should be deducted 10 points

That's a good point. The SFA rules describe an insolvency event as below.

"means circumstances where a member suspends, or threatens to suspend payment of its debts, or is unable to pay its debts as they fall due or admits inability to pay its debts, or is deemed unable to pay its debts within the meaning of section 123 of the Insolvency Act 1986 ............."

Surely staff salaries could be regarded as a debt. This would apply for that other lot in the east of Glasgow.

“However it is achieved”

As if a tinpot outfit from Dundee will have any bearing on final league positions during this crisis.

At least they had the balls to publicly show how desperate they are, as opposed to that sleekit Japanese eye bastard in the east end.

Nice try but no, not if it's done under the furloughed scheme as that is underpinned by legislation. They will be paying what is legally due

I think fair enough atleast they done players and staff unlike others leaving the big earners taking there cash and hitting the low paid staff.

This is a good point the big clubs now getting pelters for hammering the wee guy doesn't look good at all

The deduction is 15 points now, plus 5 the next season - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32436839

Sporting Integrity !

You just know the SPL are going to carve things up to suit mentally challengeds Hearts and Dun Utd

What they don’t get is the whole of Scottish football is so fragile they cannot be certain which clubs will be around as no one knows how long this virus is going to be killing people

Whilst 1000’s are dying plotting schemes in the background to appease the mentally challengeds Hearts and Dun Utd is disgusting behaviour

The league has to finish on 17th May and no extensions are permitted to maintain sporting integrity and if anyone complains just ask the fat Japanese that he insisted this was the case in 2008 and 2012

Every business should use all available means to keep jobs safe.
folk on here being clouded by the club involved and not what’s happening in the country.

If EPL teams are doing this it's hardly a surprise a wee shitey club like Dundee Hibs are . Most clubs( including us) will join in sooner or later

130% turnover wage/ratio

I would suggest that that isn't in the interests of sporting integrity given their actions towards their staff

There is a standard clause in footballers contracts allowing them to stop wages completely in certain circumstances. Was mentioned on the radio this morning as Budge has threatened Hearts players with it unless they agree to a cut

I've heard that said a few times. They say it's a standard proviso in all professional contracts.

I can't find anything in the rules of the game that cover 'financial liabilities of clubs during the suspension of all football matches' or similar.

They were ready to knock back the title weeks ago...
