SFA want to postpone games in March for the UEFA playoffs

For the love of christ, is it thicko Sunday or something.

There is already a gap in the league schedule for these Euro 2020 play off matches, we won't be missing any player, never 2/3.

The SFA are proposing to extend the break forward into the last round of league games before the scheduled break.

We should be telling them to bolt
If that's the case then fine, it's not exactly clear from the op though.

if this ^^^^ is what is actually being proposed then I’ll have to go back and undo “likes” galore on this thread :D

Yes, if the SFA and SPFL are proposing to give Steve the Jakey more time to injure our players in training, that’s very different.

No, No, No, No, No, No, Noooooo :))

It doesn't matter. The SFA or SPFL can't rearrange or move League fixtures simply to accommodate the national side, if that is being proposed.

For me, I'd go with it. It would set a precedent for when we reach the latter stages of European football in the future
No, it wouldn't, it never does.
We tried it and it failed, we never done it and it failed, we tried it and it worked, we never done it, and it worked out.

See which of the 4 above Rangers don't want to hear when mentioning precedent, and run with it.

To be fair the SFA did offer to move games in 2008, it was the League that refused to extend more than a few days.

So they want to postpone our game away to St Mirren on 21st March? There is already a real danger of fixture backlog as it is as if we get qualify for the next stage of the Europa League and win that tie and are still in the Scottish Cup then we can't play our already postponed St Johnstone game until April.

And that's without any potential Scottish Cup replays. If us or Ross County need a replay in our Scottish Cup tie then the match moved to the end of Jan due to League Cup final will need to find a new date.

Tell them to do one.

We'll be looking for the same help then for our last 16 Europa League tie and then 1/4 Final one and so on. :p

Not to worry we can play multiple games in the final week of the season

Have we not go a trip to Japan booked?

Or you never know if we had an injury crisis and it doesn’t suit us to play it would be ideal rather than using disgusting excuses like Hollicom FC done in 07/08 season.

Am I missing something here?
If we are going to be missing Ryan Jack and Steve Davis, why would we not want the games postponed?
Because %^*& the sfa etc etc!!!

and we say Scotland hates itself to death, it would seem many on here also playing their part.

Is that right aye? Sporting integrity please. Hopefully our club custodians remind them kindly.

If I was Dave King I would actually have the cheek to write to the SFA and tell them that 'no can do' as we are planning a tour of Japan at the end of the season.
See if the SFA take the bait and laugh at the fallout in the press as they are forced to deal with an issue that they have sidestepped for a decade.
Oh and fck them all!

No thank you. We are happy to play without Ryan Jack for one game. Let the crash barriers be without Christie, Forrest, McGregor.

Eh naw!

What goes round comes round ya corrupt shower of rancid bheast appeasing cunts.

WATP

Don't want to stick up for the SFA, but it wasn't them who refused to cancel games before Manchester, it was the SPL.

The SFA actually asked the SPL if it would be possible to put games back and were told no, which led to the letter from the unnamed club Chairman to an SFA Official, telling them not to do us any favours.

They are still a shower of Rangers hating Bar Stewards, but on this occasion, people are venting their anger at the wrong people for the refusal to cancel games pre-Manchester. That was down to Dumbcaster and the SPL.

To clarify, we won't be missing Davis & Jack in any fixture; there's already a break for the play-offs.

Petrie wants the fixtures weekend of 21st March postponed so Scotland have more time to prepare - and of course he can gtf.

Thread title's a bit misleading.

The precedent has been set by the football authorities. No fixtures can be moved under any circumstances, if that is what is being proposed to assist Scotland. It'll be interesting to see the mental gymnastics of the media to explain why games should be moved.

SPL / SFA are one and the same to me. 08 they done f*ck all for us as we chased a historic quadruple and in 2012 they done f*ck all for us as we were a victim of the biggest corporate rape in sporting history.

F*ck the lot of them. If we have a veto we better use it.

Totally agree mate, just thought I'd clear up for folk saying 'we can do without Davo/Jack'

After 2008 they can GTF

We also have to factor that we still have a winter to get through where other games could easily be postponed if we get a harsh spell of bad weather

Genuinely will never forget how we have been dealt with by the rest of Scottish football and under no circumstances should we agree to postpone the St Mirren game

They should be doing away with the winter shutdown as this would free up clubs from midweek fixture congestion when weather related postponements come along - rather than adding to the issue by postponing league games to accommodate the international team

The club should tell them to %^*& right off and remind them exactly why. Far too many of these International games to begin with. However, there are interfering with the club games far too often. If they want to start doing that so often then they should be made to pay through the nose to do so.

We will of course allow it but really we should have a very stern message saying "NO".

Just as the SFA puts Celtic first, then Rangers must put Rangers first. Sounds fair to me.
In which respect, when making this decision, we should consider only those matters which benefits Rangers and are to our advantage. Scotland‘s interests should not come into it, not even mentioned.

Why? It's not like its going to help the national teams cause.

Oh - and fu.ck the SFA! Should not entertain the notion of helping them!

I'd like to see us tell them to ram it and tell our players to retire from international football right now, pointless pish

It's also not going to work given more than half the most recent squad play for clubs outside of Scotland. What's going to happen there? Can't see those clubs releasing any of their players early.

So they are never going to get the entire squad together before the normal meet up day anyway.
