Sin bin (5/10 minutes) during VAR review?

I've just seen that the Kilmarnock goalkeeper's red card has been rescinded.

The logical solution (for me) would be a red card sin bin while the decision is reviewed by VAR/the panel of referees.

I know we don't even have VAR yet but at the top level, wouldn't this solve a lot of the problems? It's potentially a bit unfair on the team if it's shown to be an incorrect decision but better than ruining it for the rest of the game.

I know that it's probably just as open to poor officiating but it seems like a better idea than the current system of letting it fully impact the game, then reviewing it afterwards and deciding that it was in fact the incorrect decision for the referee to have taken.

As an aside, is there any appetite for it or can we even afford to bring VAR into the SPL?
