Skeletor saying SPFL season unlikely to be finished and legal advice being sought

There is a growing understanding among Scottish football clubs that finishing the season is becoming increasingly unlikely due to the spread of Covid-19.

Each SPFL side has at least eight games outstanding and the governing bodies are taking legal advice about the best way to conclude the current campaign.

The English Premier League are reportedly exploring a televised, behind-closed-doors event this summer.

However, that is considered fanciful by senior figures in Scotland.

Instead, they are minded to protect next season with as little disruption as possible given new broadcast deals are due to begin.

Clarity could come following more league meetings later this week, but there is now a desire for as little delay as possible.

Individually, clubs are continuing to explore cost-cutting measures, with many already applying for the government job retention scheme.

That would see 80% of players and staff wages being covered up to a maximum of £2,500 per month, but would also leave clubs unable to issue players with training schedules and dietary plans.

The Scottish FA are continuing to look at sources of income in a bid to potentially provide members with short-term loans.

Their focus, for now, is understood to centred around safeguarding the future of clubs.

The EPL makes sense to finish as there’s a significance to it all, just nullify our leagues and use it as an opportunity for re-structure.

The way is see it is if it’s null and void there is no legal claim from any club in the top flight as nothing has been decided yet . The only challenge could be from the clubs not getting promoted . If they award any title and relegation whilst still not earned then that’s where there are legal grounds for challenge . Pool the prize money and split it evenly and no one apart from Celtic will moan .

Basically in other words the realisation is that the season can't be completed and is now effectively over. Well that's been evident for a while now.

So if that's the case null and void the league and everything else currently still ongoing.

Dragging this on in the vain hope that the ongoing situation will suddenly go away is fantasy stuff.

There is no way they can hand them the title now imo.

Whatever happens in the coming weeks Rangers and our board plus our lawyers need to be all over this to ensure "Sporting Integrity" is maintained.

They scum will still claim it no matter what the outcome
You can be sure their insane fans will be getting lawyered up and exploring every avenue to get it awarded to them irrespective of what any sporting or legal body advises ....... ffs they are still going on about that resolution 12 thing years later....

There were officials openly saying last week that Null and Void wasn’t even going to be on the agenda.

I have a horrible suspicion they will award it as it stands.
Can't see it any other way myself. I genuinely believe it's in their best interests to award the title to the them.

The narrative to award titles is relentless in the press. Read the headline then the article in The Sun today as a great example.

Serie A season could be cancelled TODAY and Juventus handed title as talks continue amid coronavirus pandemic

Serie A chiefs will hold crunch talks on Monday with the potential cancellation of the 2019/20 season on the cards.

Damiano Tommasi, head of the Italian players' association (AIC), has stated that the coronavirus pandemic may draw an early conclusion to the campaign.

A ball has not been kicked in Serie A since March 9 and some teams have as many as 13 games left to play, on top of the completion of European tournaments and the Coppa Italia.

And Tommasi, 45, confirmed on the weekend that today's video conference between the country's sporting leaders may call a halt to the campaign.

The ex-Roma midfielder told ANSA: "There’s concern that the season will end here.

"It’s therefore necessary to tackle the problem of ending the season from a sporting point of view and a contractual one."

Previous reports suggest three routes are being considered to finish the campaign, including utilising a play-off system to determine the champions, European qualifiers and relegation spaces.

Both naming current leaders Juventus as Scudetto winners and not naming a champion are also under consideration.

I think we all know how this will end though it doesn’t mean we have to meekly accept it. We will be up against the football authorities, most other clubs, all the media, pundits, politicians etc. We will be painted as the enemy as usual. All orchestrated by one rancid paedo protecting club.

"Taking Legal advice".

Im no lawyer but anything less that null and void would be wide open to legal challenge. Absolutely wide open.

No way will the scum accept null and void lightly
Of course they won’t. And to be honest I don’t blame them, being honest we would all be going nuts if it was us with the big lead at the top.
Similarly we won’t take them being awarded the title lightly either. And neither will Hearts take being relegated.
The entire thing is an utter mess and will end up in court no matter what.

I said on another post they will be awarded it as unofficial champions, which will allow them to continue the pointless count of titles in a row, whilst we’ll laugh at it.

Lazio will be all over this.

Hearts to jump into bed (again) with the filth to avoid relegation and hand them the title. We all know it's coming. People who think they're going to null and void the league must be delirious as a result of this lockdown. They will get what they want, we will come out of it as "sore losers", "insensitive". History tells us this. Prepare for the carve up.

I recon the title will be given to them. However in the sane and normal thinking world we'll know fine well they didn't win anything. Obviously their fans and club are utterly consumed by ten in a row which has become even more evident with their displays of complete ignorance towards a pandemic. Again making it very clear they regard football higher than human life. I think we should take solace in the fact that they legitimately won nothing, how can you win a competition without finishing it? We won't sink to their depraved depths.
Ram their favourite saying "sporting integrity" down their throats.
