Sky Scottish Football coverage

When it comes to Rangers they just can’t help themselves trying to find reasons that decisions aren’t given to us.

That stupid woman had the rule book out trying to justify the Lundstrum sending off and then tried to compare their penalty claim to ours when Tav clearly had a Hibs player all over him pushing him into the other Hibs player.

All of this was shown for the bias that it is when Dermot Gallagher confirmed Lundstrum shouldn’t have been sent off and Hibs claim wasn’t a penalty.

Surely we can expect these clowns to show that they know the rules and can apply them fairly when commenting.

Hi Graeme

There’s an important aspect to this.

SPFL for some reason are desperate to preserve this fake (or poor quality depending on your outlook) narrative and give them an easy ride extension.

Additionally Bushiri (spelling?) was either pushing back or falling back into Tav, causing Tav to have to hold him to avoid falling backwards, while his mate had both hands on Tav’s shoulders. Any claim for a penalty was and is errant nonsense. It should have been a foul to us. I assumed as the ball cleared to us the referee in effect playe£ advantage as we had the opportunity to move the ball forward from the incident.

BTs coverage was much better
Peak Scottish football when BT offered to implement VAR 3/4 years ago for all televised games. It got shot down as it was seen as being unfair.
However by this point we could have had BT bought and paid for equipment and prolonged training for the officials, a state we are likely 2/3 years away from now.

If BT had got shot of Sutton and his partisan ramblings it would have been immense.
The coverage of our game has dipped dramatically since they lost the rights.

Even the 2019 league cup final.
All day build up and a class production for a genuinely massive game. Wall to wall promotion of it too.
No we didn’t get the reuslt, but they at least tried to show our game in a proper light and even offered to improve it with the VAR implication.

BT actively encouraged Sutton. Even the game you speak about, an 8 hour build up means fúck all when he's screaming "Ten in a row" and "good guys have won" into a microphone at the end of the game and calling our captain a serial loser the day before in the paper. How is that promoting Scottish football ?

This is a company that have allowed him to spout insane shit on live TV about "Brother Beaton" for nearly 4 years now. It's pathetic.

Sky largely try to create the same shite with Boyd at times. During the 55 season he was encouraged to wind up the Tims.

All that pantomime villain pish does my head in.

They are clearly told what to cover and how to edit what's seen within the programmes. If they don't follow the directions in their ear they don't keep the job for long. Barber etc are only doing what they are instructed to do. It's not rocket science or accidental that coverage of us is as openly and unashamedly biased as it is and the panels and commentators consist of who they do. Anthony Joseph oversees Scottish Football for Sky. Google him and one of the first things that comes up is a Celtic podcast introducing their special guest and fellow Celtic/Scotland supporter Anthony Joseph. Nothing will change on that front any time soon no matter how many complaints land on their desk about it. They are more than likely laughed at. Exact same with Sportscene. It's the people you don't see in front of the camera that's the biggest issue for us, not the ones you see moving their lips.

The coverage is absolutly chronic.

We have had to listen to Crocker and his cliche ridden nonsense for almost 25 years now. Mostly with a Celtic minded co-comms.

This need that Scottish Football has to create 'controversy', particularly in our games is what holds it back.

Its school playground stuff.

Has the Sky team EVER before had the presenter read out the rule relating to a controversial red card? She literally had it written down in front of her ready to go - I've never seen that before, and the second she read it you knew the deflection campaign was starting.

Add to that the manufactured Tav penalty claim being shown over and over and the whole thing reeks of Timothy.

You could scroll through footage of practically every single corner in football and find instances of grappling - strange how they selected that one to highlight.

Sky Scottish Football is an absolute riot, and not really doing anything to promote our game.

We'd be better off as a game without them, but as the rest of the league put hating Rangers above all else, we are stuck with them.

It’s good to finally get UHD via Sky on Scottish football but the coverage, commentary and punditry on Scottish football is, in my opinion, always much better via BT Sport. I think Daryll Currie is a far better host too. Pundit wise, McCoist, McInnes are both decent. Sky’s coverage is pretty bland in comparison, makes very little effort to promote the game in Scotland and always plays second fiddle to the EPL and Championship.

Sky coverage is rotten, we are just a wee box ticking exercise for them.

If they bothered their arse they could have a decent product to promote if they themselves didn’t have hateful little scrotums operating within its walls.

Make no mistake, Sky Scottish Football is a Rangers hating cesspit and it’s coverage absolutely reflects that.

Neither were or are acceptable. Both of them gleefully use their pundits as trolls to alienate a large percentage of their audience..

You don't get Sky or BT doing it with their EPL coverage. We shouldn't have to put up with it either.
Both sets of the OF fans lap it up though, so they are doing their 'use' to create interest and viewers.

Pre 55 season, Boyd was called all sorts on here. He wound everyone up over the course of the season and it was 'Boydy man, brilliant'

It's genuine panto stuff and a helluva lot of fans fall for it.

She just talks a lot of crap here quoto during the recent woman euro finals said it all about her

Its what holds Scotland back as a whole actually. A culture of drama, blame and someone elses fault for a lack of success.

Doesn't help when the broadcaster responsible for the coverage is a Tim, most of the guests are Tim relates and the commentary team is Tim tainted.

Yes BT has Sutton and Craigan, but they are just fannys more than anything else, but the coverage on there was head and shoulders above anything Sky provide.

I'm amazed at the SPFL wanting to tie into Sky for a deal with no more money.

You can add 3 other outlets that cover Scottish football namely Open Goal, Go radio and PLZ

Lawell junior, Haughey and Peter Martin own/control these outlets and looking at companies house records, they are not in it to make money.

A basic lack of professionalism.

Sky are at it in the EPL as well with Carragher/Neville and Liverpool/Man Utd.

She just talks a lot of crap here quoto during the recent woman euro finals said it all about her

Wasn't really her opinion though was it? She was leading into a feature that Alex Scott had done on diversity in the women's game.

Barbour is just doing what her producer in her ear is telling her to do didn't see the issue really having the rules out as to what Alfie and Lundstram could have been sent off for as it was a major discussion point of the game.

The fact that Crocker is still doing the commentary after all these years tells us all we need to know about sky, couldn't give a monkeys about Scottish football, pathetic.

Another BIMBO! How unlike Sky?

BTs coverage was much better

It really wasn't. Majority of the time it was just Sutton arguing the toss with whoever else was on it.

Plus when it came to contract renewals, BT offered less than their previous contract was worth, which nobody seems to remember.

Sky literally do not give two flying fucks about Scottish Football. They never take up their full allocation of games. Their coverage is really poor with some terrible pundits who don't know their arse from their elbow. It never really promotes the game and sticks up for it.

Despite Sutton being a pundit on it, I wish BT had won the rights to our game. I always felt they promoted the game better and I am pretty certain they would use their full allocation of games.

If Sky could, they would just play the 4 Old Firm games and a couple of Rangers and Celtic games.
