SNP’s James Dornan accused of ‘making up bigotry’ after linking bus cancellations to ‘anti-Irish racism’

the little deranged cretin should just be laughed at and told to sit down but he is actually a MSP.

I actually feel sorry for his family. This man sent his son to Cetic park knowing at the time kids were being abused. How can a father do that to his son?

Maybe he has those lenience's himself? It would make sense.
You’ve got to ask yourself if there was even a hint of that would any responsible parent take the risk and send a child into an unkown situation? Not any parent who cared about their child.Or is there another reason he put his child in danger?

The amount of anti English racism on show today due to England playing was disgraceful. Social media absolutely dripping with it. That is far worse in Scotland than anti Irish racism but it’s ok because the government hates them too. This is getting very dangerous.

sure dornan will promote the st George day? Last night of the proms and any 12th July stuff - no?

he seems a dangerous chap.

Chucking claims around without verifying facts.

had it stopped for any discriminatory reason it would be wrong. I’d wager no bus service ever has been stopped for anti any religion

I remember the story of the wee neds chucking bricks through bus windows. I remember 1 of the dads making his son go apologise and handed him into the police.
However how has Dornan managed to link this anti social behaviour to anti Irish racism? Surely he should be getting sacked for this hysterical anti unionist guff?

at an absolute minimum.

I know it's obvious but the fact the snp higher up allow this bigoted scumbag to spout lies with no repercussions says to me they completely agree with him.

This.

It’s very clearly supported from the top. Sturgeon’s failure to condemn Hibs fans for attacking Rangers players at their workplace shows what their leadership deem acceptable TGG.

St Patrick is thought to have been born in the area now know as England, it is funny when you point that out to people who thought he was Irish.

You always see woke types highlighting that St George was born in what is now modern day Turkey, they call him Turkish even though there were no Turks in Anatolia in St George's time, he was thought to have been ethnically Greek.

Not that I want to claim him as one of us, but pretty sure St Patrick was born in Wales

As far as I’m aware, Dornan still hasn’t been called out on it. He’s quick enough with a cheeky reply to anyone who dares to answer him back about anything else right enough.

If he’s not answerable to the public who put him in his position, then who is he answerable to?

These socialist morons all need a racism angle at the moment don't they, SNP so much so they make up one. It's hard enough getting my head around the BLM and left wing political stuff, some of it is absurd, this 'anti-irish catholic' racism though, is a fucking belter.

Your Scottish, you were born in Scotland.

Are they looking for a new stripe on the rainbow flag because they were born Scottish but identify as Irish. B-)
A brown stripe would be apt for the shitehawks, the real Government should be stepping in here this devolution experiment has been a failure. The SNP creating division at every juncture in Scotland is becoming unbearable for most, It seems that whipping up hatred and tension is a constant part of their policy, a them and us mentality can't last peacefully.

Unless the bus company take legal action, nothing will happen to this cretin. That other SNP nutcase, Matheson, of the both hilarious and sinister hokey cokey sectarian fiasco, is still at Holyrood and drawing a salary.

This is IMO fact

If Lothian Buses decided his comments were worthy of legal action that’s the only way his ridiculous comments will be punished

He is a Republican sympathiser and has zero credibility

The admission that he knew there was child abuse going on at Parkpaed and still let his son play and train with CBC sums up the mentality

I hope Lothian Buses take action against the prick

Lothian buses and SP came out and said it wasn't religious, they caught 38+ kids using 'decoy buses' to capture it all and pictures were plastered everywhere. Like all the snpricks they are trying to tar and tie everything to this sectarian shit (one sided I may add) people who voted these clowns in should have a closer look at themself and to what they are doing. We knew it was coming and still they back them. They are acting above the laws and pushing this shit in everyone's face to promote their own agendas

Making up bigotry has been going on in Scotland for years. It's an industry, and its captains, Dornan, Yousless et al are determined to expand it.
The people Scotland elect are horrendous.

Its usually the keyboard slabbering hoards but we now have elected msps sitting in government openingly making up stories about racism and bigotry trying desperately trying to stir up hatred and division.

Scotland has entered a very dark place indeed.

I just dont recognise it at all.

Its been said a million times on here "how can rangers fans vote for them?"

I agree. However how can anyone who considers themselves a decent human being vote for them?

What mental gymnastics do they indulge in to keep reality at bay?

Does our parliament ever discuss important issues? You know, things like poverty, unemployment, drugs, improving housing. Are these issues even thought about ? It seems every politician in this country spends their time tweeting about anything and everything, but don't act or do anything to improve the lives of the citizens living here. When was the last time an MP visited your local area, chapped a few doors, asked what they could do to improve the area you live in?

Charlatans, every single one of them.

He was born in Scotland In 387 to Roman parents Calpurnius and Conchessa, captured by pirates at 14, he was taken to Ireland as a sheep herder.

Anyone thinking he's just stupid misses the point.

The SNP have got into power by manufacturing grievances that don't exist and by creating someone to hate.

That's the exact same tactic being used by the Sinn Fein wing of their party, Dornan being the most public face of that group. He intentionally stokes up grievance by connecting everything to a false narrative around their one eyed version of bigotry, and repeats it so often that the message sticks with as many people as possible.

Not stupid, just hugely dangerous. People will end up in jail, or physically injured, or both, all down to him and his like intentionally creating division where none actually exists.

He's the Green Brigade in a suit.

I complained about him, this was the response. Admitted he was wrong, but not going to do anything about him.

Thank you for your recent email in which you raise concerns about the conduct of James Dornan MSP on social media.

I do appreciate your view that Mr Dornan made a number of inappropriate comments on social media. I understand the points you make and your concern at this behaviour, but I am sorry to say that it is not a matter that the Presiding Officer is able to help you with. The responsibilities of the Presiding Officer include investigating complaints about members’ conduct in the Chamber and how members engage with their constituents, I’m afraid that individual MSPs are responsible for the content of their own Twitter accounts and therefore the Presiding Officer does not have any oversight role with this. In addition, the Code of Conduct for MSPs, which sets out the standards of behaviour which MSPs have to follow, does not extend to MSPs’ remarks on social media.

I appreciate you may be disappointed by this response, but I would suggest that writing to Mr Dornan might be the best way for you to raise your concerns directly.

Yours sincerely

...incredible, it's the 1800s again.

How long has this cvnt been abusing social media now..? He's been at it for years. It's his conduct online that should be the sole reason they have legislation in place for thundercvnts like him..! He's completely breaking their rules of conduct...just, it's online...how convenient. Amateurs who are happy to allow this.

The idea of this lump of wood passing as a politician just about exemplifies Scotland in 2021. He has the iq of a cabbage but incredibly is afforded the opportunity to stand there and spout this repetitive flow of verbal shite.

This country has far too many serious challenges ahead in the near future. We simply cannot afford to allow imbeciles like dornan the time to burden our parliament with any more of this continual manufactured crap. People really do need to wake the f**k up

He should be chased for that
Sadly he won’t be. Like Humza, he can make a total balls up countless times, and also out and out lie, and it will simply be brushed over and forgotten. The power the SNP now hold over large parts of the country is incredible, a sizeable minority of the country are so blinkered on independence they are willing to gloss over almost everything else to achieve it.

Along with the Edinburgh papers, the Times and the Sun have reported his comments but the rest of the media has remained silent.

They know it’s an own-goal which subjects the selective-sectarianism industry to ridicule.

This is reminiscent of the time when Cardinal O’Brien issued his ‘punch a pape’ soundbite. Headline news in the BBC Scotland and STV evening bulletins but then effectively censored by the following day’s press. Far too embarrassing!

He is an attack dog for snp policy isn’t he . Agree it isn’t stupidity on his part but equally that that doesn’t mean he isn’t a stupid man I think he is being used and it hate driven and for that I’d say he is stupid .

Not that dissimilar to how Celtic exploited Neil Lennon for the same sectarian attacks they wanted to publicise and exploit IMO

As someone who thankfully lives outside the central belt what an absolutely sad and depressing thread.

How did this arse ever get elected? Are politics in his area so polarised his views are popular? Stop and think about it 15 years ago someone spouting rubbish like this would be nowhere near an elected position

But the most staggering thing about this is this is the headline in this story. Not the fact we have gangs of neds attacking buses. Think about that. We have a continuous problem of groups of youngsters attacking buses and that isn’t worthy of news anymore in Scotland? Do we wait until people are killed? What are police Scotland doing?

What kind of country are we becoming? Is this the Scotland anyone wants to live in?

Not sure if you are actually looking for an answer here or not - Politics is a single issue in Scotland now, the SNP could put a chimp up for election and folk would vote for it.

They need taken to task on stuff like this.

This guy is dangerous! He’s the figurehead of a lot of establishment people who are using the Anti Irish / Anti Catholic bigotry line constantly just now.

Wasnt there a charity who claimed they had been lobbying to get politicians to start using this terminology as it’s more damaging than good old “sectarianism”

thisis the kind of thing that inflames tensions - inserting it where it’s not even a consideration.

My point here is we are missing the main story here as well. We are more concerned about hte rantings of an obvious bigot than the fact that bus drivers are being routinely attacked in our capital city. No-one gives a shite about that but we 200 thread post on the rantings of Dornan.

Is that really more important?

Can anyone post the link to the article?

I've been trying to explain the shit we need to put up with to a couple of English mates over, and this highlights what I'm talking about perfectly.
