So, what was your 1st cup final?

I won’t be first with this one.
1973 Scottish Cup final.
I guess we all know what happened that day so I’ll tell you something you might not know.
Attendance was, I think, 113,000.
Next day, one paper stated that the twenty thousand or so that stayed away were the real winners.
This after a five goal cup final!
Sore losers or what?
 
1976 3-1 v Hearts.
My dad took me and my sister - I was 11 she was 10 and we stood down at the bottom of the Rangers end near north enclosure.
Big DJ 1st minute.
 
League cup final Morton 0-5 Rangers. Jim Forest scored 4 second half goals and his cousin Alex Willoughby also scored. It was 0-0 at half time second half Rangers ran riot.
 
2008 league cup final vs Dundee Tesco

went to penalties, think Boyd scored the winner. I couldn’t watch it!

Travelled up with two of them who were in their end. Had to stay in Edinburgh as couldn’t get hotel in Glasgow in budget. My two mates had lived a sheltered life so I took them to the strippers the night before. Was hilarious watching their eyes pop out! :D Had a great night, and travelled over together on the day.

After the game I partied and didn’t get back to Edinburgh until the morning after, spent all night in the louden then some bird’s place. Got back just in time to check out and get flight home. My two pals didn’t speak to me for the whole day, even sat next to me in the plane with my big cheesy grin. :)

We’ve hardly spoken since 2012. Rangers will always be there, mates come and go.
 
1978 2-1 win over the Sheep. Can remember the day well, went with a mate at the time and his dad. His dad wasn't into the football like we were and had a bloody green coloured Ford Escort, was thankful for the lift, but it really was an uncomfortable drive out of Hampden that day. o_O:)
 
Oct 84 beating Dundee Utd in the LCF, £2.50 for a ticket in section H, I was only 13 and wasn't allowed to the final the previous March v beasts!!
 
V Hearts in 1976. I remember the crush trying to get to the turnstyles. They said there was 88k there that day.
 
1969 Glasgow cup final, Gers beat thistle 3-2, I can remember nothing about the game. Any other Bears remember events at this game?

Both same for me. My uncle was a big CR man, went back the following season when they defeated Linlithgow Rose 3-1, their 4th JC final in a row.

1966 cup final 0-0 v the paedo enablers I was nine

My dad didn't take me to the replay because it was a "school night" i only found out the result when i went to the newsagent for papers the next morning. Great way to start a schoolday:)
 
2005 league cup final ‘the Davie Cooper final’ vs Motherwell, had a season ticket since 2002 but never managed to get a final ticket until this. Was absolutely buzzing. Still got the ticket stub sitting in a cupboard :)
 
Earliest one I remember winning was 1971 League Cup Final, big DJ header (alas I think the first was the SCF 1969 when we were gubbed 4-0 )
 
1973 v them won 3-2, cheers tam, the last over 100,000 crowd at hampden 123,586 in fact. 4 x 13 year olds standing on old railway sleepers and clinkers at the H section rangers end.

Filth Scottish cup final 1999, wee Wallace scored 1-0. First game of new Hampden . Got absolutely hammered before it lol
 
St.Mirren v Aberdeen about '59/60, 3-1 to st.mirren I think.
In these days the Cup Final was one of the games of the season, the other was Scotland v England.
If you had a ticket you went.
 
1978 Scottish Cup vs the sheep. Won 2-1. John Greigs last game.
Was 7 and in the north enclosure. Seen %^*& all cause all us wains were stood down the front next to the fence of the Rangers end.
Although at one point the ball went out for a throw and I remember Greig ran over to get the ball off the track. He looked like a giant to me. :)
 
1987 - Rangers 3 - 3 Aberdeen, went with both my parents, it was the last time I went to a game with my mother, as she was screaming like a crazy person during the penalties and she was never allowed back.

I was there too, 132,000 at Hampden Park that day. Supporters at our end went mental and me and my brother were forced out of the terracing onto the track where we were dodging batons from the polis.
Worst match I've ever witnessed. Bottles flying, basically a war zone, ah the good auld days.
 
81 Scottish cup , 0-0, Redford missed a penalty in the last minute. Got up to the replay to see us win 4-1. Sure Bobby sands died that weekend and that's all that was sang at the game
