Song for Stevie G

This is the one: get it sung loud and proud, Bears!

A Liverpool legend now he's blue Gerrard Gerrard
He loves the bears like me and you Gerrard Gerrard
At every ground at every game
Well proudly sing and chant his name
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard He's one of the people too

Na na na Gerrard Gerrard
Na na na na Gerrard Gerrard
At every ground at every game
Well proudly sing and chant his name
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard He's one of the people too
Need to get a squad of bears together and get it sung.

It just takes a video to go kinda viral on Twitter or whatever for songs to take off. Which is why WATP Sessions might be better to start off organically just at games or whatever. A group singing their new songs about the club and players and take it from there.

Another guy who is long overdue his own song is our captain James Tavernier. Seen this version mentioned in another thread and think it would fit perfectly for Tav because it shows how much he means to the team and also us.

Oh Stevie G is magic,
He comes from Liverpool,
He could’ve stayed in England,
But he said na its cool,
His assistant is oor Gary,
He’s Rangers til he dies,
With Culshaw, Beale & Milsom,
We’re going for 55

The blue, white f@cking dynamite Durrant tune works fine with me and should be sung at every game. Respect to the gaffer.

Sorry for this fellow bears, but this auld yin has just got to throw aside his inhibitions and chuck this one in the mix! Sung to the tune of that great Presbyterian hymn 'Onwards Christian Soldiers'.

Onwards Glasgow Rangers marching as to war
With our leader Stevie going on before
Gerrard our Grand Master leads against the foe
Forward into battle hear his cry ‘Lets Go’!

Onwards Glasgow Rangers marching as to war
With our leader Stevie going on before

Onward fellow brothers ‘No Surrender’ is the cry
We won’t be defeated keep those banners high
Honour Truth Integrity that’s the Rangers way
Gazza Laudrup Big John Greig were proud to come and play

Onwards Glasgow Rangers marching as to war
With our leader Stevie going on before

Look out all our enemies we can smell your fear
You just can’t accept the fact that 55 is near
Sons and daughters everywhere enjoy that glorious day
Raise your glasses celebrate ‘our kid’ from Whiston way

Onwards Glasgow Rangers marching as to war
With our leader Stevie G going on before

been here the best part 14 months now,our gaffer and nothing has really taken off in regards to a song we can sing for him, we may as well just go with the song the liverpool fans sung for him, the chelsea fan boys in our support, of course, will have to suppress their urges to sing the version of him falling on his arse

Not my effort mate. I'm just promoting as it's the best option I have seen :D I'm trying to get 1 of the WATPS musicians to do a recording we can get played in Louden, WRC and any other boozers. Watch this space..

Song: Young again - Artist: Morgan Evans

Never goin’ down again

I can hear the music from the bars along the street
There’s a bouncy bouncy rhythm in my hands and in my feet
Standing here together there’s no place I’d rather be
We’re watching Glasgow Rangers playing under Stevie G

Chorus:
And every song we’re singing, we’re singing about us
This night could last forever but it won’t be long enough

Cause we love to watch the Rangers play
We’re gonnae win the league again

And we’ll raise a glass to Stevie G
We will never be goin’ down again
Woh oh oh oh oh Woh oh oh oh oh
We will never be goin’ down again

Repeat from chorus.

Good song AYEBrox , would like to hear your Rangers words if some of our talented singer / musicians would care to have a crack at it .....Keep up the good work Bud ! :))

I am an awful song/chantwriter however I remember some lively debate a while back as to whether a full Ibrox singing the Liverpool anthem YNWA would be both appropriate and unbelievable. I agreed with this sentiment provided it was a one off however that was another discussion.

As a 'compromise' of sorts I'd like a Gerrard song to factor in a line something along the lines of

"He came (up) - or even 'walked on' to Ibrox with hope in his heart"

He came to us with hope in his heart, Gerrard, Gerrard
or
He gave the people hope in their hearts, Gerrard, Gerrard

Just my tuppenceworth.

Same tune as his Liverpool song

He came here when times were hard
We follow him near and far

Here is one I wrote and had recorded. Hardly one for the stands but, decent

He's one of the people our own Stevie G

The talk down in Govan of a man they're all lovin
He's caused a sensation all over the nation
