Sport complex accross from Ibrox.

Noticed that the sport complex accross from Ibrox is not opening again due to cuts by the council.
Would it be worth Rangers trying to buy it for use at matchdays to hold events etc?

Watch the lovely council inflate the land value. I'm expecting a cheap land deal like the rattlers got

Pretty sure we have a 25 year lease so no idea where we stand on that.

As regards buying it, it would be a really useful move. However, we need to be aware that - whatever we plan to do with it - the local Community Council will object. It’s what they do, as we‘ve found with many other things.
You are spot on VB, it was 25years, although I don’t know what the terms are. If the council don’t want it as a functional facility then we will be in the driving seat to purchase.

I really hope we can get ownership of this!

At the very least we could take the high wire fence down that surrounds the pitch which obscures the view of the main stand and use it for parking.

If cleverly landscaped, with trees etc it could provide much needed parking whilst providing attractive surroundings in the foreground to show case our magnificent main stand!

If our stadium didn't need so much work it would have been cool to buy it and build a smaller arena like Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium for the women and potentially B teams.

@Greg Marshall this should be passed onto club. Majority of fans believe it is essential that if its for sale the club take use of this and use it on our footfall. Have it used for something that could enhance the club, remove the fence so we can get good panoramic views of the main stand. How can we get these passed onto the board at club. We as a club cannot afford to lose this piece of land.

SDM “had that vision” with the St.Anthony’s pitch along at Helen Street.
Sams vision as the casino.

Hotel in mirror glass reflecting the beautiful stadium and underground parking

Ibrox Football Centre is on the GCC list as not opening again by them, so if it does then reopen, it will be fully under the Rangers Football Charity auspices? We should take the next step and fully purchase it, we already have the lease.

I was working in it just before they set it up as a covid testing facility. I was informed that Rangers are taking it over after the testing is no longer required.
