Is the man to take us to 55, the man to stop the 9.5 in a row, and the man to lead us into the Champions League.

He’s an icon in the game, known worldwide and respected by most.

Best thing of all is he’s our icon.

It’s a marathon not a sprint but he will get us over the line if we all back him.

Totally agree, only wish we could have got him a year or 2 before
agree mate but he wouldn't have been ready. Don't think he was ready in first year but there's a reason he was so successful and it wasn't just his talent. His hardwork, determination and sheer desire to win meant he was always going to figure out how to manage a club of our size, we just needed a bit of patience which is unfathomable for some of our supporters

I still can't believe all the doubters who come on here wanting him sacked every time we have a poor result. If you can't see the progress we've made at home, in Europe, in the backroom, and behind the scenes you're either thick or blind

All of them were strangely absent yesterday mate. When you think it's just over 2 years ago they were taking 4 and 5 off us and we were losing to a team from Luxembourg and yet some still want to rip up all the good work and start over again every time we drop any points (though they never say who they want in strangely). We have made huge strides in just a short space of time and things are looking good.

Steady lads, he’s doing incredibly well this season (so far).

We are into his 3rd season and he’s still to lift any silverware, which is what every Rangers manager should be judged on.

Judge him at the end of the season, not in October.
We’re not judging him as such because he has already brought us on a ton from what he inherited at the start.

He hasn’t won a trophy as yet but he will and a lot more if we are patient.

He has raised our profile in Europe ten fold and brought millions of pounds to the club.

He has turned the tide of the severe pastings we were getting from Celtic regularly to us beating them comfortably and in their own midden twice in a row, not many of our managers have done that.

So if you are not convinced he’s the right man for the job that’s up to you but the SG Express was coming for a journey not just one stop.

Absolutely this. He has done a fantastic job.

Choo Choo!

Just imagine where we might be to day if we coulda got Stevie instead at the time we got Pedro. Spent 229 days setting us back about three years.

what an achievement it would be. At this moment in time, even if money was no option stevie G was would still be the man id have in charge. He knows what rangers is about

Many times I’ve said on this forum he deserves 5 years after which we will be invincible in Scotland and competing with the best in Europe, hope it happens in Scotland this year, but we should not be looking for his head if he has a blank season

It's 5.5 in a row, we were not in the two horse race for the first four.

Every word of that is true, yet it is still a lot of shite.

We were an absolute basket case, a complete and total rebuild was required.

That could maybe, massive maybe btw, have been done in two seasons if we had a 40 million budget (make your own number up), but we didn't.

It was always a 3 to 5 year plan that was required along with the understanding and patience of the support.

We are on track, still not there yet but on track. Progress has been made and the foundations look to be solid and holding.

Our lust for silverware could see us with the fastest and bestest revolving door ever seen in football if we are not careful.

Lets show some patience and bring it home with SG and his team at the helm.

This was our team on the one of the last league games against them before he became manager. (Maybe the last one).

We got beat 5 nil.

Things have certainly improved.

We got utterly spanked that day. Could have easily been doubled figures without the keeper having a blinder.

What a turnaround.

Let's hammer the dross and we'll win the league before the split.

Wow...I would still have Candeias. Him instead of Barker yesterday would have been excellent.

People moaning about him having 3 years and no silverware, he inherited an absolute mess of a squad that needed more than one transfer window to be rectified, and Lurch denied us last year lets be honest. We now have a squad that has no excuses this season, if he doesn't win us a trophy this year then he should be questioned but you can see the improvements. There are minor blips along the way but i'm confident now we have good squad depth that those results will be minimal

Love the man but lets win our next league game and then the next and so on, then they bastards will crack

Great post mate .

Even if you’re not a fan or not sure , Stevie G has financed his tenure with his European heroics .

I was very skeptical about his appointment but by and large he has taken the club forward.

We went from being repeatedly humiliated by them bastards and other lesser clubs
to a team that’s beaten Porto , Feyenoord, Galatasaray etc.

Are we where we want to be? No, but a club like ours will never be content with anything less than best.

We have a team who showed that they have “it” when it comes to the big games and has a swagger and attitude about it which all big teams have.

Gerrard isn’t a Rangers man, so what. He’s a professional doing a great job for Rangers and that’s all that matters.

There was a case for not allowing the hype surrounding Steven Gerrard the player to cloud the vision of him as a manager.

For me he had to prove he has what it takes, it's now beginning to look like he has.

Or a mentally challenged.

I've been very critical of the manager in the past as he's made a lot of mistakes and in my opinion cost us points in certain games.

Yesyerday, in my opinion, was his finest performance as manager.. tactically we were near enough perfect.

Long may the improvement this season continue.

some bears forget just how poor we were and how far behind the paedo we had dropped. Make no mistake we were under attack as well from all sorts of non Rangers people and organisations and still are to this day . In the short period Stevie G has been here I think the progress of our club has been fantastic under his management domestically and Europe and I hope he stays with us for a very long time. WATP

In Connor Goldson's post match interview he go on to say that defensive performance has been two years plus in the making , working on it training every week . The progression the club and team have made since Gerrard has come in has been massive. The trophies will come in time .

What doubts do you have?
The ability to change things when we aren't playing well is the main one. We still don't have a plan B when we play against 10 behind the ball. I'd also would have liked to have won at least a cup by now. I do 100% believe he is the one to get us over the line.

Fully agree with this.
Pre Gerrard I thought we looked like conceding at evety corner or free kick. The mentally challengeds best weapon is a set piece goal and they didn't even threaten us yesterday. Still a ways to go this season, but the football we play is fast and entertaining, the European achievements have put us back on the map & brought the money in, at least 9/10 from me. Love Stevie G.

I have total trust on the gaffer and his staff, as he has quoted “we are going to have bumps and bruises” on our way to success so l will be patient whatever comes our way.
He inherited a very poor team to say the least, his been involved in the whole restructure from the juniors, reserves and first team plus a winning mentality which we haven’t had since Walter’s days.
Europe has been a resounding success not only financially but our name now been mentioned around Europe, you only have to see Scotland‘s coefficient since The Famous are back.
We deserve him and the rewards the club is achievIng.
Good luck to all of us.

Anybody with eyes can see the progress we have made in the last 2 years and unless you have £millions to spend, which we haven't had, then it takes time to build a team and Gerrard is building a good team. Gerrard's management and coaching has taken us on great European runs which has afforded us money to get in players such as Kent. We have made great strides under Gerrard's stewardship and that can't be denied.

W.A.T.P.

Yes they took 4 of 5 but the chances of that happening before being flung down the leagues would be very slim! Must be noted since we started from the bottom as a weaker side until now only recently we have got even stronger and progressing well however until we reach the heights we were at only then we can truly say we are back and back where we belong! Signs are good imo

%^*& me that's grim. Shows how far improved because none of those players Tav aside are good enough for our bench now
