Summer sport cancelled in UK

Whilst I agree with our post, the furlough scheme has a maximum of £2,500 per month. That is an almost insignificant amount for a lot of players so can't imagine they'd be happy to go along with it.

I don't really care whether the footballers are happy, they are on obscene wages for what they do.
It is wrong that Rangers(any club's) players will can empty the till and leave us as we were in 2012. They will not have a club after 3 to 6 months. Almost no club could survive that. They then won't have any wages at all.

PS Had forgotten that Dundee Hibs have already done this.

So long as the Police are authorised to disperse gatherings there will be no large events taking place.

They can hardly tell 5 people they can't stand together then let tens of thousands got to a sporting event, a festival, a concert etc.

Since when did any of these things become "essential".

Possible that we won't see football until September at earliest. Not a chance a close contact team sport will be resuming before anything else and madness to think so.

Sports like darts, pool and snooker will be the first to get going again and guaranteed to be behind closed doors.
