Lad looks a prospect. Hope we manage to push it through
He does look like he 'could' be for real. Seemingly we were after him when he was 16 so it looks like one we've been tracking for a while. Very few first team games, obviously, but a real impact.

I still find it hard to believe we didn't move for Turnbull in January when he too was out of contract. He is the real 'jewel' from that crop of Motherwell youngsters. Missed the boat I feel.:(

Tin hat on,but I'd take Kalas,Holtby,Hastie and Shinnie-I'd think Kalas might be a stretch though.
Haven't been linked with him whatsoever but his campatriot who was on the bench for the Czechs the other night is available on a free transfer from Basel-Suchy the guy's called.
Possibly a more realistic target although again, purely speculation by me alone on that one.

Cheers for starting a thread OP,always look forward to them.

I just hope we target a better caliber of player than we currently have. We need 4 or 5 real quality signings over the summer, I'd imagine we will bring in some more squad players and have another good clear out but we all know the midfield and forward areas need seriously strengthened.

Heard Van Persie is close to signing a pre contract and Skrtel is strongly linked by media outlets in turkey....

In all seriousness this is going to be a massive summer. Possibly the most important Summer in our history

Quality please. We've enough squad fillers.
Some of those that could/should be on their way this summer. Not all will go - and there's a debate to be had over some of them - but we certainly ain't replacing them ALL with 'quality', because we cannot afford to. It's a long list but I'd say at least 9/10 of these are certain to go. We currently have Jones, Hastie (probably) and Shinnie (maybe) to come in. I'd say we are likely to get a couple of loans, 3/4 'good' level players and a further 2/3 squad players.

Foderingham/Alnwick/Firth (2 out of the three)
Flanagan
Wallace
Worrall
McAuley
Davis
Coulibaly
Dorrans
Holt
Rossiter
Docherty
Defoe
Kent

Kent Stay either loan or permanent
I think only Rossiter,Defoe and Kent will be here next season

Agree mate. You named 15 there and I’d hope at least 10 of them would go, maybe more. So as you say we can’t get that amount in all of quality, but I’m certainly hoping for at least 5 or 6 of quality to replace many of them.

Hastie is an improvement in terms of his goal scoring record. Hastie and Kent have both scored 5 goals this season, with Hastie only playing a fraction of the amount of games that Kent has played.

Front three next season could be Murphy, Morelos, Hastie depending on if we decide to cash in on Alfredo or not.

I love Candieas and Kent but there end product can be woeful. Look at the Tims, Kent is better on the eye than Sinclair but Sinclair scores goals. This is where we have missed Murphy IMO, yes Kent is more pleasing on the eye but his numbers are terrible for a winger.

Candieas is a good squad player and no more than that. His work rate is second to none but again his crossing/shooting is simply not good enough.

We need a right winger, a striker and a player like Christie or Rogic behind the striker.

I reckon only a couple off that list will be in the squad come window closing, which means we will likely need about nine in.Jones,Hastie,Shinnie and a bosman CB would mean we'd be using what funds are available for five or so players of hopefully superior quality.

I'd go even further and try to get maybe Holtby and Suchy as Bosmans and use the funds left for three players of the highest quality that we can possibly afford.

Hastie has scored more in 10 games than Kent has all season.

I agree, and far greater potential then Middleton imo.
What makes you think he has far greater potential than Middleton ? Middleton is 2 years younger with goals and assists in Europe to his name as well as a great record for his country through all the age groups . Hastie has had a purple patch with goals admittedly and i would not be against signing him especially on a development fee pretty risk free although i have never sat and watched him for 90 minutes unless he played us which if he did i cant remember but again i feel we are incredibly harsh on our own products Middleton breaks into the team he is best thing since sliced bread a few weeks later he is red rotten according to most of the support .

I wouldn’t want these high earners like Davis & Defoe unless they are truly contributing as first picks, and important first picks mate.
Defoe has done fine, but my thought is what can we actually do with that money being salaries for other players who can give more ?

Have you seen some of his goals ? absolute belters, i can't find the ones i am referring to on youtube to share unfortunately.[/QUOTE

Yeah he’s not scared to have a long range effort, something that current players seem to be. He’s definitely got a finish on him.

Just based on my own opinion from what little I have saw of both players. I feel like Hastie is more dangerous, better ability and has goals in him.

Was just my opinion mate not saying it’s correct or fact.
