Chelsea do have a cracking prospect of academy players on the verge at the minute.

Abraham, mount, tomori, Hudson odoi, Gimour as well as James who will no doubt break into the team soon .

I have a Chelsea supporting friend who insists that Reece James could be as good as Ashley Cole was for club and country, although they play on the opposite side to each other. Considering how good Cole was that's some endorsement, especially when he's yet to play in the Premier League. But he definitely has a lot of potential about him.

I thought he would’ve been like a solanke or bandied type but he is top drawer.

He has been excellent this season - looks like he can get even better still as well. Top finisher and brilliant with the ball at his feet. Lampard has done really good in allowing guys like Abraham and Mount loose in the team. The young lad that scored a the weekend with the excellent ball curled into the corner from outside the box looks a real talent as well.

Sometimes unleashing younger players is the right thing to do. Perhaps not being allowed to dip into the market has been a good thing but will see how it pans out.

Funny thing is, if Chelsea were able to bring in players then the likes of Mount and Abraham probably wouldn't be starting for them. Abraham is a far better option for them than Higuain (or Morata) was last season, despite the latter's reputation.

In Tomori, James, Mount, Hudson-Odoi and Abraham, they have a group of players that could potentially amass a massive amount of England caps between them. Then there's Ross Barkley too who still has it in him to become a very good player, and is only 24 (I think) himself.
