Tav losing the ball wide in the run up to the goal

Let’s get one thing straight - James Tavernier was in no way responsible for tonight’s defeat. He constantly tried to make it happen up front, had our best effort on goal (apart from Goldson), and was fine defensively - the goal was McGregors fault, end of story. The agenda against Tav on here is beyond a joke, in fact I’m beginning to think this place is overrun with poets. Goodnight

We had to commit men forward at that point.

We needed a goal.

Tav loses the ball in their corner surrounded by two players with no support...how the %^*& is the goal his fault?

McGregor is a great goalkeeper but his kicking has been pretty poor all season IMO, that said one bad clearance didn't knock us out the Europa League.

Every bit as much to blame as shagger .. unbelieveable decision not to just fire it into the box
Er naw... McGregor had all the time in the world and could of blasted it anywhere but put it right to a Vienna's players foot. You cannot blame Tav for that ffs.

Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say it was a good goal, sure shaggers kick out was terrible but after that it was the only bit of real class Rapid did all night, still think right now we are not getting the breaks just now.

He went to cross the ball and had nothing much to aim at so he looked for a better option and got crowded out.
If he'd swung it in the box to nobody then he'd have got pelters.

You can’t blame tav for the goal but you can blame him for making a mess of another attack with piss poor decision making and delivery.

If we're going to forensically analyse it to apportion blame, then surely its the 4 lads who had a dream who are to blame for that shambles?

No? Well, why is that going back too far, but you can go back as far as you want in the game to prove your point?

I blame the plane driver.

If he never drove the plane from Glasgow we wouldn't have been in Vienna.

It's his fuuking fault. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Whats that got to do with crossing the ball first time?

If you don’t know how the ball is going to react off the pitch then you have to take a touch to control it before crossing.

If tav had tried to stick it in first time and it had bobbled and he messed it up you’d complain about that too.

It is a strange mind that actually thinks Tav was culpable for that goal.

It is an even stranger mind that actually thinks it a good idea to share such thoughts.

A shame that One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is not showing in Scotland soon. The OP is a ready made man for a walk on part.

Brilliant mental gymnastics there to get the blame onto Tav.

The goal was McGregor's fault. But without him we wouldn't have been in with a shout anyway.

IMAGINE LOSING THE BALL TAV, IS THAT REALLY CAPTAIN MATERIAL?!!!??

Please just calm down. We win as a team and we lose as a team.

McGregor’s kick out was poor and gave us a problem. It still could have been defended though and McCrorie could have dealt with it, he got into a good position at one point and then switched off.

Folk need to get a grip,we have done way better in Europe than anyone has a right to expect

Ofcourse we have. Basically a whole new team , a rookie manager and 35 games into a season. The sooner some of us take our heads out the sand and realise we aren’t going to match Celtic overnight the better. However we will get there in time.

Absolute clueless nonsense. One minute before he had a great shot on goal forcing a good save. He tried to cut in and lost the ball, he was trying to drive us on. Tav played well and so too did young Middleton who has been castigated on here. McGregor tried a long ball and it fell to them. It happens, we outplayed them but lost. And if you want to know who played really well, that would be Morelos. And for you to criticize AM for the season he has had, proves you know nothing of football. The man has performed heroics at times. You are just another petulant disturbed "Asian poster"...HOTM.

SG if you are looking in - PLEASE keep the same team for the weekend.

You can’t blame tav for the goal but you can blame him for making a mess of another attack with piss poor decision making and delivery.
Oh well, you cant blame him for that goal but lets criticise him for something else

Remind me, how many assists had he had this season?

At least he tried to go past someone. Half the problem with our players of late is that they are so scared of making a mistake they don't try to make things happen. I'm not going to moan at anyone who at least trust to be creative in the final third.

We had two moments of threat during the game one came from a Tav cross for Goldson the other came from a Tav shot, so basically he was our only threat. He then gets caught on the ball 20 yards from their goal and they score after a minute or so including a poor kick out and four or five passes from them with the runner not being followed , how the Merry Hell is that his fault.
It’s been obvious for a couple of years that even when the lad is playing well there is a few who basically think he is shite and it would not matter what he does it will be his fault whatever.

Spot on, as a support we aren't known for our patience but that is what we need to be now. This manager will get us back but it was never gonna happen after 1 transfer window
