The Emergency Powers for the SPFL Board Resolution Vote

Letters went out on 24th June so 28 days will be up on Wednesday 22nd July.

Lord Clark raised enough questions regarding the SPFL over the last three days (particularly their failure to produce documentation requested by the petitioners) resulting in an SFA Arbitration process to be carried out as instructed by the court and not in accordance with SFA written procedure.

Bear in mind also that the SPFL provided legal advice to Dundee Utd/Raith Rovers/Cove Rangers who had their case thrown out by the judge and they are now being stiffed for the court costs of that element. All other SPFL clubs effectively pay for the rest of the court costs and that is without addressing any Arbitration costs (with the possibility of further court costs and compensation on top of that).

Surely clubs will now step back from granting the SPFL Board these emergency powers given the mess they have left the Scottish game in is now all too apparent.

Hopefully there aren't too many 'YES' votes in already (there aren't enough to get them over the line on that one yet otherwise it would have been declared).

Surely most clubs just can't blindly give the cabal these powers now - it would be sheer madness to do so.

Would not surprise me in the slightest if this gets passed as well.

Make no mistake if these powers get handed to them we are screwed.

Imagine if they used these new powers retroactively and as a legal defense against unlawful behaviour because they had clubs consent.

That would be unthinkable.

Majority of the clubs backed the corrupt bastards mate for a independent investigation I’d be amazed if they still don’t back them even though they know they are corrupt it stinks to the core.

They would be insane if they did but we have seen that insane behavior on a number of occasions in the recent past.
Any sensible person would not let the SPFL run a bath.

Scottish football, sensible?

They have ex players as CEOs and chairmen in all these rubbish wee teams. Some of these guys couldn't run a menage never mind a small revenue football club where efficiency and marketing are key.

We seem to be screwed regardless, everytime I've thought we've had the upper hand, something turns up to put us back where we were. It's become so obvious to everyone watching this shit show but still they do what they want.

About one third of clubs supported Reconstruction so, added to the last three days, is it a stretch to think the new Resolution is onto plums?

Surely this is sunk.

The SPFL executive is to be subject to an arbitration panel as a result of their recent actions, anyone handing their voting power to them to rule arbitrarily is not acting in the interests of their club.

They already make up the rules as they go along so what additional powers do the scumbags really need. The only hope for Scottish football is that they get knocked back here.

Desperate leaders asking for and taking emergency powers usually ends badly. McKenzie’s desperation must be well founded. These emergency powers to force through league reconstruction - the thing that’s been voted down numerous times, so why would those same clubs now give them that power? But the last few months have shown what is going on; not incompetence, but a fanatical mission to end the season and declare Celtc champions. Everything else is collateral.

There’s no question in my mind this will get passed and we will get screwed for challenging them back in the spring. And after the court ruling today I can’t see what we can do to stop it

There comes a point when we really need to give serious thought to our future. The Castore venture has shown we have massive commercial potential. However, it is wasted playing in the SPL. The Covid situation has proven what we all knew anyway, TV is where the real money is in the game today. Scottish football is never going to generate the TV income we need to realize our potential so we can either just accept that or start to examine alternatives.

We need to be proactive here. Find clubs in a similar dilemma and put together a package that is attractive to both television and sponsors alike. It’s either that or continue to languish in the backwater of Scotland while Europe’s elite get further and further out of our reach and the poets get more and more control of the domestic set up.
