I am a supporter of that "certain vintage" and as good a double act that Mcoist and Hateley were, for me the partnership of Millar and Brand were the better of the two.
That is a fantastic point and something I had never really taken into account before! The great thing about teams in those days was they stayed together - very little movement in and out of the club - so players went to one another's weddings and christenings of kids and stayed friends for life.
Very moving thing to see amongst them in their later years at functions.
An almost telepathic understanding between the both of them. They were a joy to behold. Ralph was a fantastic striker.Brand and Millar ( The Penguin) were a great partnership equal to any since!
We could rattle off the same starting line-up just about every week. The great thing about teams in those days was they stayed together - very little movement in and out of the club - so players went to one another's weddings and christenings of kids and stayed friends for life.
Very moving thing to see amongst them in their later years at functions.
