The Hootsman compares the market values of Scotland's teams

TM is a brilliant source for information.

The "transfer value" they put on a player's head is essentially solely to compare that player to similar players of a relatively equal standing in the game: age, position, country of birth and league et al.

TM will never be able to evaluate the un-/willingness of a club to sell a player, the importance that club puts on a player`s head or the willingness of the buyer to get the player, no matter what. Supply and demand determines the price these days, not stats. It is solely an "in house" value.

But go out there and try to find the transfer business conducted by all Premiership teams since we started in the 4th tier of the Scottish game. About 4 clicks on TM will tell you that during our absence and outside the Yahoos, only Aberdeen spend ANY sort of cash on a player. The rest dealt with freebies and loans only, that is how well football was.
It can also tell you that the team the Yahoos had to win all those trophies on the trot was assembled for roughly 30m pounds ... as opposed to freebies and loans. And while the Yahoos did not spend that heavily in 2016/17 or 17/18, they still had a squad that cost thrice as much to assemble as ours.

Likewise, you can find stats on any of our new signings going back to 2010 or the like, be that goals, assists, positions they played in (and scoring these goals and assists), how long they played, cards and whatnot. Try to get this elsewhere ...
