The Juniors - 24/25 Season

I was meaning regarding the weather mate. Three games survived the card today and all were played on artificial surfaces.

The surface at Petershill Park for a plastic one is really good and I'm no proponent of them in a general sense.

The crowd would be around 150.

What makes you think Petershill will leave?
A few unrelated whispers over the past few seasons that won’t go away , rumours I know but the few old peasie guys I know reckon the’ve been shafted by GCC

It's basically Glasgow Cities Ground and the buildings run by them and the Thistle Trust. Petershill haven't paid for the recent Groundworks so likely they will be tenants long term.

Really need to work hard these days getting money in to keep any club going.

WoS First Division
Ardrossan 1-2 Kilbirnie
Petershill 1-2 Renfrew

WoS Second Division
Whitletts Vics 3-2 Lanark Utd

Headed back up to Springburn today for Petershill v Renfrew. The visitors were the better side although there wasn't too much other than a goal to separate the teams. Decent travelling support with the 'Frew's young team trying to create some atmosphere.

With a point between the sides in the table before k.o. they tended to cancel each other out, however Renfrew proved to be the more enterprising with some tidy passages of play. Peasy will be annoyed that they couldn't trouble their opponents goal too much and build upon last week's performance.

Standside lino's footwear was comical.

The new league fixtures are as follows:

Tickets and hospitality available on the link above.

Trying to get going again after the last month of baltic Saturdays.

We’ve been given an away trip to Darvel on 1/2 as we can’t play our south challenge cup game that day as drabs and Glasgow united are playing the previous round that day.

Also hosting Glenafton on Wednesday 5th February. Makes sense having local games midweek I suppose

Cumnock the Dundee Hibs of the WOS charging again for an abandoned game.

At least Pollok got a point they probably wouldn't have got !! :p

Glenafton did it to us a couple of seasons ago. Game abandoned after 10 minutes. Nibidt in the gate so no refund. Half the usual charge to get into the rescheduled game.

I see your team took a humping in the SC today, shame you drew an on form Ayr Utd. a few other teams in the draw would have been good for a Broxburn win.

West cup tie at Dunterlie ended 3-2. Lie maybe lucky to be 2 up by HT, albeit the home side were the better team. Mighty pulled one back as they applied typical pressure. Beith faithful announced they were league & cup winners. Always a mistake.
Bigger & stronger, yet Beith found themselves 3-1 down when McNeill expertly converted a pk mid way through the 2nd half. Immediate, blistering reply down the hill by Mighty. They've form for that at their own midden.;)
Alamo in the added 8mins time. Beith hit underside of home bar, but no more counters. So, not winners today.
Colin will be as delighted as me that Strain was red carded. How does he get to manage such a great club?
Credit to everyone for celebrating the short but wonderful life of Steve Convery. A legend in two town & many more clubs. RIP.

A very Good friend of mine played with Stevie at Clyde, said he was a Good Guy. I remember said friend playing against Convery when he played for Maryhill, Convery was always lively and scored for fun. RIP

Just home from a brilliant day with Stevie Convery’s family and friends remembering an absolute gentleman.

Arthurlie asking fans to be in 15 minutes before kick off for a minutes applause was a bit pointless mind you.

We were puzzled too. But our committee couldn't organise the proverbial. Probably the biggest attendance at any funeral I've been at. Little consolation to Angie, D & D.
