The Juniors - 24/25 Season

Just watched it back on Pollok's YT channel mate and it looks innocuous at best. However, I was watching from the wee stand behind the goal and my view was as clear as you could get. Lafferty pushes Gow in the back, albeit cutely, with both hands to gain an advantage. Gow should've went down and it may have influenced the ref's decision. However, I guess you could call it naive defending in a way.

Martin Donnelly's camera angle shows the Burgh sending off to look like a nonsense and yet from my vantage point it did look marginally high. That said, I was as surprised as any to see the red card come out and there wasn't too much dissent from the Burgh players.

Pollok are lightweight with a good number of youngsters in the side who will in all likelihood struggle to stay at the Premier League level in the longer term. In fact, if the club decide to downsize further in the Summer, I'm predicting that Maxwell will potentially relegate them next season.

I was standing with the Poilok Match Sec and we were both very surprised at the JB red. At first thought we thought it was the Pollok player being sent off, we were at the side stand opposite the social club looked absolute nothing in it.

First half was quite even and not many chances. Largs play was disjointed with a lot of high balls.

However, the second half was a different story and Largs Thistle reverted to joined up, high press play and had a lot of goal chances. The Beith keeper was their man of the match.

Although one goal decided the fixture it could have been more.

A well deserved three points to Thistle who are playing 6 league matches in 14 days starting tonight then have a 5 day break before the Scottish Junior Cup semi-final second leg against Johnstone Burgh on Sunday, 18th May ko 2pm.

Mon the Theesel! :)

Another early concession by Lie, followed by a great equaliser, before going 2-1 down just before HT. Manager tweaked the team and lie hit another 2 good 2nd half goals as the sun set. Candy never gave up & hit the post late on. 5 wins in 11 days for lie & AWR visit Dunterlie on Saturday. Legs will be tired, but promotion ensured & Barrhead's finest can have a tilt now at the title. May even get Healy McGaughey back.

Just seen on Twitter there was a “mix up” and Arthurlie “forgot” to bring training baws and training gear.

the club thief is getting out of hand now pawning the training gear to get a pint.

Losing that league game at Beith earlier in the season still irks me! Nice to see Largs winning last night and the earlier cup win away at Beith.

Arthurlie need another two points to secure promotion, and four points to secure the title.

They could have both on Saturday if they win and Kilwinning don't beat St Roch's.

Was at the Lanark game last night - hard fought win, to say the least! Beat the Gow next wed, and it could be a league decider at home, against Whitletts Vics, on the last day of the season. Nice to get some title excitement!

Seen the first half of Sauchie - Musselburgh in what was a very emotional day at Beechwood.

It wasn't a great game and Burgh done what they needed to do to get over the line and win the league.

For anyone on the thread that doesn't know, Brian Morgan, Sauchie's captain for many years with over 500 appearances for the club passed away suddenly last week at only 35.

Some beautiful tributes for him before the game including by his young daughter. Heart is absolutely breaking for his wife and that wee girl. Brian was a fantastic guy, known and loved by everyone in the area. Will be sorely missed.

Life really isn't fair sometimes

RIP sir :(

Some of the promotion and relegation scenarios in the WOSFL were geared up today.

"Following on from today's results, I thought I'd email all clubs to clarify the current situation regarding promotion and relegation, so everyone knows what is at stake for their club over the remaining two weeks of the season.

This afternoon, Bonnyrigg Rose were confirmed as Club 42 in the SPFL, whilst East Kilbride won the SPFL play-off semi final v Brora Rangers on
a 7-4 aggregate. They will now play Bonnyrigg Rose in the SPFL Play-off Final with the losing team guaranteed to be playing next season in the Lowland League. This outcome also confirmed BROOMHILL's relegation to
the WoSFL Premier Division next season.

It also means that there is no scenario remaining where 4 clubs can be
promoted this season, nor can 5 be relegated.

However, there is still the scenario where 4 clubs could be relegated, should Clydebank lose the Lowland League Play-off against either
Musselburgh Athletic or Hill O'Beath Hawthorn.

Another reason, if one were needed, to cheer on the Bankies to achieve promotion to the Lowland League"

Well contested game at Dunterlie ended 1-1 with a Lie side weakened by injury/exhaustion pushing for a winner. Visitors AWR had started better, scoring early after another defensive howler. Possibly a draw was fair. Lie are promoted. Goal difference probably ensures the title, although a point at Thorniewood on Wed would crystalise that.

Unfortunately my wife was celebrating her birthday this weekend so we are in Auchterarder so I don’t see a second of the match :(

Beith actually took the lead but collapsed 6-1 at halftime. Went to 8-1 before they pulled another back. Scoring stopped because we’d made all 5 subs and then one player picked up an injury so had to finish the game a man light.

Hopefully see you at a game next season.

Whats the plans for next season mate?

Know P Hill from U20s and see he's lowering the age profile of the team.

Are you sticking with him for next season or he going back to U20s?
Yes mate Peter Hill will be our manager for next season he's doing actually no bad(not results wise) considering we've had 2 rebuilds of the squad this season and been bottom for pretty much the full season

We appointed new under 20s coaches going forward

Next season will be hard for us again but I'm confident we will get there

Good luck mate.

Any chance of you getting back to Saracen Park? Or has that ship well and truly sailed.

Used to be a great wee set up there with the boozer there, though drove past recently and seen its been converted into an African church
