The Last Man Standing Competition 7 - Round 2

Well-Known Member

We are playing for £650 in competition seven

We were joined by a further fifteen players for competition seven which in turn took our prize money up from £575 to now read £650.

From the 130 players we selected nineteen teams with no fewer than 14 failing to enter a team at all for whatever reason, alas it's your money tho.

20 - Spurs
14 - No Entries
14 - Aberdeen
14 - West Brom
13 - Leeds
11 - Inverness
11 - Man City
07 - Cardiff
04 - Celtic
04 - Rangers
04 - Watford
02 - Arsenal
02 - Derby
02 - Fulham
02 - Hearts
02 - Sheff Wed
01 - Bournemouth
01 - Everton
01 - Kilmarnock
01 - Morton

In total we had 66 players knocked out at the very first round...

14 selected the sheep however they lost one zero away to St Booooo

Alcrinz - Making debut
Calderwoodloyal - Making debut
Cole - Previous winner
Ibroxbear - Previous winner
Scott - Making debut

And we had a further 14 players trying their luck with West Brom however they were held one one at 'The Hawthorns' by visitors Millwall and out went...

Alcrinz2 - Making debut
Dumbartonrock - Previous winner
Mitchellmccoist - Previous winner
Reggie - Making debut
Ross97 - Making debut

13 took Leeds as the English championship favourites were at home to Nottingham Forrest and although the 'Peacocks' were the better team they were also held to a one one draw and you get nothing in this game for selecting a draw - Out went our hopefuls...

Deek - Previous winner
Irnbru - Previous winner
Jannerbear - Previous winner
Nithbear - Making debut
T9row - Previous winner

4 of you tried there arm with Watford who were at home v Brighton, and what a poor selection it was as the 'Hornets went down zero three very easily against the 'Seagulls and out went the daring foursome..

A scoreless draw between Derby and Swansea at the Baseball ground ended the fortunes of 2 players as they went for the home team to take all three points, out go...

A further 2 went for the jam farts as they were at home to newly promoted Ross County however this was also to finish goalless and out went..

1 went for Bournemouth who were at home versus newly promoted Sheff United however this was also to finish in a draw ( 1-1 ) and out went...

1 selected Everton to win away to Crystal Palace in what can only be described as a very sticky selection indeed and so it proved as this match anmlsko finished goalless and out went...

1 selected Kilmarnock to take care of Hamilton at New Douglas ( he must have been impressed with their determination last week ) alas it wasn't to be as Killie went down without a whimper two zero and out went...

So that was 8 former champions and 7 newbies KO'd at the very first hurdle however hopefully all that were showing the exit door very early return for competition eight ( which will be going out in November ) to try their luck again.

Well done to the sixty four who made it into round two and the share value currently sits at...

That i am using..

1.League fixtures from the top two divisions in both Scotland and England.

2.Saturday and Sunday fixtures only.

3.No less than twenty fixtures.

( rounds 1-4 )

Basic and simple...

1.Select a team,if it wins you are through.

2.You cannot select this team again.

3.You can edit your selection until kick off.

4.If your selected fixture is abandoned you carry through to the next round however you will be required to select an EXTRA team.

5.If your selected fixture is postponed you can either wait until the following round to pick an EXTRA ( as above ) or simply edit.

6.If you fail to enter you will be eliminated.

7.There can be no sharing of the pot at level one stage.if all players were to exit at a particular round then all who took part in THAT round would be immediately reinstated for the next.

( Rounds 5 - 10 )

You are now requested to select TWO teams and from this round onwards you may be offered a share of the pot...

1.If both your selections win you go through to the next round or win the full pot if all of your opponents fail.

2.If only one of your selections win you may be offered a share of the pot ( pro rata ) or win the full pot ifall of your opponents fail to get any selections correct.

3.If all players fail to get any of their selections correct then all will be offered a share of the pot ( pro rata ).

4.If one player decides to take the share then all must take a share.

5.All players who are subject to a share will be alerted and a decision has to be made no later than Monday midnight.( If no decision is made we take it as read that you wish to continue ).

Arrive at round 10 and we have some very lucky/good players on our hands as in essence you have just completed a thirteen team accumulator.

All winnings will be paid out via bank transfer only ( the same as it came in ),i will message the winner(s) requesting their bank details and money will be transferred immediately.

On completion of each competition there will be a short pause ( about two weeks ) where we will offer places to other forum members who may be interested in coming in and adding to an already respectful pot.

With five pounds now released from every player the pool pot now sits at...

Everton for me.

Going for a different tactic of trying to save the big hitters for later on this time.
