The Morelos Problem

Drop him and no chance of a half- decent offer in January.
Keep him in team and play a man short based on his recent performances.
Hope GVB has the solution!
BTW this could also apply to a few of the other starters!
Looks like he has the solution B-D

Hopefully folk think twice about completely writing players off. A lot of Alfies criticism was merited this season no doubt about it, but the extremists that thought he could never play well again, need to have a word with themselves

Maybe it wasn't a "Morelos problem" but a "Gerrard problem".
In fairness though, no matter who’s the manager the effort levels shouldn’t drop

Tonight his effort levels were vastly increased and it was noticeable in the first 60 minutes not to mention finally rolling defenders again.

Felt he tired after 60 odd but hopefully tonight wasn’t an anomaly and he keeps the effort up, and more importantly the goals

The problem under Gerrard was the tippy tappy stuff. 6 or 7 passes, ball out to the wing and high ball into the middle. By which time the defence was set up and the chances weren't there. Tonight we played through the channels and looked a lot more dangerous because there was much more space in the middle. We could have had 6 goals tonight and they all came that way. My point is that the change in tactics played to Alfie's strengths.

You are right that effort levels shouldn't drop but it must have been incredibly frustrating for him.

Gio just needs to strike the balance between having Alfie back as the rampaging focal point of our attack and then being too reliant on him, which was also a problem in past seasons.

He was at a fork in the road. He has chosen well! Get in Alfie. Earn your big move. Get us the dough and kick on for a great career. Or stay and win trophies. Not fussed either way!

This is fair, but its also applicable to 90% of the team this season
