With all the constant rain that's forecast for tomorrow, will the pitch hold up? Its looked a bit patchy recently. Just hope it allows us to play football and not become a leveller.
But that would cost more time and money than just buying it from a supplierThere was a load of turf during the week at the side of the pitch, not anywhere near enough to relay the pitch, but perhaps being used to patch up the worst bits,Have said for years that there should be a part of the training ground used to grow decent quality grass and nobody allowed to play on it.
Like a nursery for our own pitch and when our pitch requires serious attention like now, it would only be a matter of lifting the turf into rolls and relaying the pitch at no cost, rather than buy the grass in.
Stadium tour yesterday morning and groundsmen cutting grass etc.We did not think playing surface looked 100%,when you consider amount of rain of late it,s understandable.Someone mentioned pitch newly laid at start of season though.
When they talk about rain at the risk of sounding Captain obvious but isn't it covered?
What happened to that light heater thing that we used as well?
I'm told that we don't have enough lights? It was covered last week but the winds killed that plan. The lights are on it constantly and all over the pitch. Don't seem to be as effective as recent years.
Think the 5 games in 15 days killed it dead.

That from this week mate?18 light rigs in the below picture.
Doesn't look like it. The old yellow cladding is still on the end of the broomloan in that pic. Should still have them though! (Lights)That from this week mate?
The thing is, if you watch any stuff from the Championship in England this weekend or even League One, clubs from thef North of England who have had loads of rain - their pitches are nowhere near as bad as ours. The pitch has been pretty poor of late due to the number of games that have been played on it since the winter break and the amount of rain that has fallen. Which has hindered our more skilful players.

Good spot mate. I had been told that due to cost we had been skimping on lights this season.Doesn't look like it. The old yellow cladding is still on the end of the broomloan in that pic. Should still have them though! (Lights)

Something has gone very badly wrong with ours. Questions need to be asked about the planning and maintenance.

Supposedly to do with the mob who relaid the pitch in the summer. Shoddily. The thing is, if you watch any stuff from the Championship in England this weekend or even League One, clubs from thef North of England who have had loads of rain - their pitches are nowhere near as bad as ours.

So another example where we have f.ucked up. Do we just go for the cheapest option every time?Supposedly to do with the mob who relaid the pitch in the summer. Shoddily.

Has anyone at the club got a clue about what they are doing??
It's a sad day when team's like Motherwell have a far superior pitch to ours. Embarrassing.
It was shite on Boxing Day.How do you know we went with the cheapest option?
The same guys who got massive credit are now aresholes and the Motherwell groundstaff are the benchmark.
Every single time you relay a pitch its a gamble. Add to that the variables in the weather, the amount of games, times between games etc etc.
5 games in 15 days during a seriously wet spell took its toll.
Their head groundsman is a big Rangers man and used to work here I'm sure. It's a sad day when team's like Motherwell have a far superior pitch to ours. Embarrassing.
He did indeed, learned his trade at IbroxTheir head groundsman is a big Rangers man and used to work here I'm sure.
Is it really that simple how thick would u have to cut the turf so it doesn’t lift up and injure someone ? How much haulage would be required to then transport thick turf from auchenhowie to Ibrox and machinery then needed to lay it. Getting turf would never be an issue it’s the practicality of doing it.There was a load of turf during the week at the side of the pitch, not anywhere near enough to relay the pitch, but perhaps being used to patch up the worst bits,Have said for years that there should be a part of the training ground used to grow decent quality grass and nobody allowed to play on it.

Looks like hps bulbs they are using, Must cost a fortune to run all them.18 light rigs in the below picture.
That's from hours ago, before the pitch inspection.
Didn't know that Sherlock. That's from hours ago, before the pitch inspection.
Sherlock?Didn't know that Sherlock.
Just got sent these and thought I'd upload and shoe the Bears
Ain't disagreeing if you want to dissect my post which was posted in good faith.Sherlock?
You stated that the pitch was getting worked on as we speak, and posted a picture from hours ago.
So dry your eyes.
He was a qualified greenkeeper before he went to Ibrox then went to wolves good bluenose as is our current head GroundsmanHe did indeed, learned his trade at Ibrox
Happy to be corrected. What exactlty has went wrong this season then?Take away today's events the pitch this season is noticeably worse than previous years. It has nothing to do with it being lifted at the end of the season. Can we please stop saying it was relaid as well! The pitch is never relaid. It's seeded!!!!
The hybrid was never installed.
The full hybrid is the plan but the cost is a high factor. The club need to accept it and put the money in.
This turf has nothing to do with the playing surface. You will notice that this turf is now in place of the astroturf (1m width) on the mainstand side. Basically the linesman line that they run up.
It was asked to get done by the players.
Everyone looking for someone to blame mate I’m sure there’s a logical explanation of why grass coverage has got sparse since early December and the rainfall over the last few days would put majority of parks off but let’s ignore that factThey both are huge rangers men like most of the boys at the Hummel and Ibrox.
So what's your excuse as to why our pitch so shit this season?? No-one at all to blame??It has nothing to do with it being lifted at the end of the season. Can we please stop saying it was relaid as well! The pitch is never relaid. It's seeded!!!!
