The profile of the club is being raised despite Scottish media buffoonery

With Timmy's chums in the disgraced and disgusting Scottish media and more chums in politics intent on demonising our club in as many ways as they can get away with, it is refreshing that outwith this bigoted backwater that the profile of our club continues to grow.

The gaffer obviously helps in this aspect and he us mentioned frequently by the English media along with us which can only be a good thing.

Morelos being spoken about in glowing terms in Columbia and elsewhere by open minded and non biased, non racist people is also great as is hearing James Rodriguez enthuse about him and in a positive manner and it puts the Scottish media including sportscene to utter shame. BBC Scotland is institutionally biased and failing its charter. The fee is racketeering as complaints are not treated with respect or integrity. A sham. Falcao has now joined in praising Alfie.

Our recent signing Kamara playing against a strong Italian side and looking decent against some superstars again boosts our club's name and we get mentioned in commentary a lot too.

Over to Belfast and two Gers and a future one play. Jones played very well and Davis scored and all this helps our club's reputation worldwide.

Then Croatia, Barisic scoring and shining amongst stars like Modric. This can only help him and us.

Rewind a month or so and our under 17s win the Al Kass tournament in Qatar against some top clubs again boosting our profile worldwide.

Yesterday thousands of Rangers fans boosted Blackpool's economy and helped good causes by attending a legends game and having a trouble free great time.

It is up to the Club to promote itself properly and celebrate the best of past and present thus maximising revenue where possible whilst challenging and tackling the bias and lies of the BBC, certain gutter publications and bigot political figures again seeking fair and unbiased treatment and demanding commercial opportunities such as a fan zone be allowed and any skullduggery by Rangers haters highlighted and action sought against liars, bigots and haters who abuse their positions to deliberately damage our club.

In the week where the Scotland team reached new lows featuring no Rangers players yet England and Northern Ireland get good results by playing a mix of experience and youth, the SFA need to be called out as well for not being fit for purpose. The game here, committees, referees are a disgrace and change is an absolute must and this would benefit us, the national team and Scottish football in the long run but as long as shame fc keep winning and controlling way too much, nothing will change and no one will challenge it.

We are on the right road as the first few paragraphs above tends to prove but must do more to ensure the farce of a national game is moderised and all lies and unfair reporting challenged to the maximum effect. This begs the questions - are we doing enough and do we have the right people doing it but I'll leave this for another day.

WOW!

The Club need to be much more pro-active and media-savvy in pushing any and all positives, whilst challenging those detractors who are working to an agenda and damaging the Rangers brand.

We can’t possibly start Litigation every time someone says something negative - but it’s time we had a couple of carefully chosen battles in the courtroom

Excellent post Paisleyprod. Only in Scotland are ourselves and our club demonised by the Nazi party and complicit mhedia.

Great post PP. And the number of young bears in that U19 squad, and their contribution, was yet another positive.

New RFFF should be put together to support this.

Well you see what damage fat Ashley causes with court cases and winning costs etc. Surely there must be an open goal we can take to the cleaners legally and financially and by doing so may put a bit of a stop to it if we threaten more.

Agree. Another example was that clown Dornan PP. It would be great if we had a case to ram it up his Rab C Nesbitt schoochter :p

Pretty much agree with everything you post, especially emphasising the positive aspects of our Club.We will always have our detractors but we should not become consumed by them. They should not be ignored but if the Club could organise some decent PR representation, they should be left to deal with it,while we the fans get on with promoting and supporting the Club at every opportunity.

Criticism if deserved is fine and acceptable but in this country certain clubs and players get away with all sorts and i believe a fair press is miles away

We do indeed need to focus on the good stuff whilst at the same time challenge the shameful way we are treated and portrayed by some and get to the truth of why they persist with it

Great post.

I mentioned this in a previous thread. We need to fight smarter.

great post by PP but we need to raise our profile at home or we will lose a lot of future fan base.

Very important point you make here GB. We can’t allow kids to feel demonised by their peers in school etc for supporting our wonderful club.

This is a fantastic point you raise, my son is now 15 and does not ever hide he is a proud bear, but it makes me sad that for the past couple of years he has said on a Monday that he feels sick about going to school. Found out it's because of the abuse/ribbing he gets for being a bear! It's so bad that when Buffalo Soldier was played in class in a lesson there were complaints! But I've told him you have to toughen up and remember they are teasing you as they know we are on the way back up.

Agree SM. It’s happening across the board in all part of our lives, and you are just proving the point even including with our children.

Living down south, it's actually hard to overstate how much of a profile Gerrard is giving us down here. There's people I work with who literally couldn't name a player in the SPL (even e.g. Defoe) that are asking how Gerrard is doing.

Great OP.

This is why we need more and more us being prepared to do our bit as well.

Each and every one of us has a part to play in highlighting unfair treatment of our club and putting in the effort to complain anout it and see it through the entire complaints process.

Well said PP, we have to become more media savvy in regards to how we promote our club, we get attacked from all sides on a regular basis.

But, that is becoming a lot harder to do when we have no allies in the media sectors.

Personally, l would have everything Rangers to go through our own channel, but on a more professional level.

the way i see it, is that we have a boardroom full of successful businessmen, butfor whatever reason they seem unable to professionally rise to the task of standing up to and taking on those who continually act to hold our club back,,and until that changes then no amount of stevie gerrard"s or indeed any other positive thing concerning our club will make a blind bit of difference,,our club have it in them im sure ,but do they have the will, im not so so sure

Obviously they do challenge some of it and we wont be party to what they challenge and to what extent but it simply isn't working as it continues to happen particularly from BBC Scotland, Sportscence, Clyde and the Record and others

They crave to be a club like us, they try to bring us down as they promote themselves. There is absolutely no chance they'll succeed, they are such a deluded shower of weirdos. #55 will be so joyous for Rangers fans, it will also totally destroy them!
What a day that will be.

We should approach one Scottish newspaper, offer them exclusive rights to any story, on the basis that they report everything rangers in a honest and professional way,, fu, k the rest of the media,, only problem would be picking a honest newspaper
I don't think there is one that would be interested.

Your point about the SFA is spot on and long overdue for an overhaul, including Referees and daft committees that serve no purpose whatever. Rangers should be giving them both barrels. Some justice all the same when the profile of the club is on the rise while Scottish football is on the slide, how ironic is that.

What a day that will be.

The problem we have though BBL is that when we got close to them after 29.12 they got their whole platoon firing the bullets at us.

When we improve next season, are they going to do the same ? I think they will, but what will we do to compete with it as this country currently stands ?

That’s now becoming a major concern of mine.

Love these kind of posts more power to you ..... WATP

Great post sir, with regards to Scotland squads though it wouldn’t bother me if I never saw a Rangers player in them again. Must be significant that even those tartan army loonballs were singing ‘F**k the SFA’ today.

great post i think there is a greater awareness of the constant attacks on our club this year with the collective support of our supporters and sometimes these enemys can be too clever for their own good one mistake and it could all unravel patience can be a weapon so keep up the great work
