The Scum are oooot the Champions League! All comments in here

Desmond is going to sell, sell, sell. He wants out, and is running them down and getting his money out.

How the feck can this happen?
Didn’t realise this question would be so popular!
Reminds me of the story some guy wrote in to one of the agony aunts.
He’s met this girl and it’s getting serious to the point where it’s time to take her home to meet the family.
Problem is that Dad’s in prison for defrauding a children’s cancer charity.
Mum sells drugs.
One sister is a hooker and another is a drug addict.
One brother is awaiting trial for raping a minor.
So, the author is asking advice on how he explains all this, can he explain that another brother is a Celtic supporter.

Uncanny.

The scum fans twitter reaction has the scum supporter outside the piggery with sellick poo hovering over his left shoulder.

Down to 14 mill now is it.
Christ, that's not even half what they got when they qualified a few years ago :D

£15m is the prize money for the group stage.

Cash for points all excluded.

Looking at accounts from non UCL to UCL seasons, the impact on the tims is £30-35m.

Last night cost them £4.75m alone which is the fee for getting knocked out in the next round.

You can have much cash as you like but they are still pish and out the champions league

Celtic’s most recently published wage total was £59 million, compared to €53m (about £47 million) total for the whole of the Romania Liga 1, which consists of 14 teams. https://t.co/GWHCyqTjvWk

Sooner or later they will have to massively downsize. They only earned all that money cause we were on our knees and out the league. It's taken years for us to build our team back up to a decent standard and I'm certain we'll be Champions this season. Tick tock timmy.

First thing, you get 5m Euro's for being knocked out in the Playoff round and only 260,000 Euros plus a negligible amount (well under a million Euro's) for going out in QR3.

Getting to the Group Stages by itself is 14.5m Euro's up front and 750,000 over the next three months.

That's where the "It's only £14.1m" is coming from, but it is incredibly disingenuous.

There's also the coefficient-based money. Clubs receive a payoff based on how good their coefficient has been over a 10-year period. The lowest club gets over 1m Euro's and it scales all the way to 35m Euro's. The poets would be somewhere in the lower end but would bring in 5-8m Euro's from that (depending on who else qualified)

Then, there is the big one. The TV Market Pool.

Scotland is considered a 15% part of "The UK Pool" which is a colossal 40% of the overall money in the pool. As the sole representative for Scotland they would have pulled in 17.5m Euro's from TV in the Group stages.

Finally, performance wise, win a game and you receive 2.7m Euros and a draw nets 900,000.

So, assuming they have the lowest coefficient (they wouldn't) and lose every game (they wouldn't) and scraped into the Group stages, they would have made 34m Euro's. In all likelihood, though, it would be somewhere in the 40's.

But they didn't and I can only imagine the horror dawning on their accountants and directors this morning.

The paradigm shift of them having Rodgers at the helm and winning everything to seeing us flourish under Hollywood Stevie and them crash out of competitions early under TLB will end these khants. This is just whiplash compared to what's to come. #WATP

Great post mate.

Their arses are collapsing already, worrying about the league and throwing away their 10...half of which were handed to them without competition in the first place.

Won our next couple of games then go after them at Ibrox. All going well, they will capitulate.

This next few weeks is massive.

Win our league games up to & including them & qualify for the EL Group stages.

Helps us massively financially & sets them up to destroy themselves.

And as we know, it’s never TLBs fault, so he will very quickly destroy the dressing room :D

The pain oozing out. Superb. If you say it often enough you might even start to believe it eh Andy ya wee wanker.

That's not really the point a lot of us are getting at mate.
When they do qualify we never hear of the bare minimum, it's a case of our salivating media gleefully quoting the maximum figure they could earn which you have mentioned above.

When they fail they always play it down.

They numbers are staggering and would make an unbelievable difference to us if we were to win the league this season then be successful in qualifying next summer......lets just qualify tomorrow first though :)

Yeah I know that mate, I was pointing out the rationale behind the misinformation....

Same with transfers in terms of reporting ‘deals’ and actual transfer fees!

Not just that, how much CL revenue have they raked in when we were down the leagues, they done the same brought in a cheap manager(Deila) and having no competition. Walker it would seem is as deluded as the supporters who should be asking where is the money. Hopefully this will bring Lawwell down.

Timmy is a simpleton , you sign players for 7 mill you have to recompense them accordingly , my opinion they knew they were losing spotty and had to get players in to appease the dim wits before he left .

I believe they voted to allow their Board to raise a share issue at their last AGM.
Don't be surprised to hear this announced soon.

Celtic are very cash rich apparently. Must have said it about 6 times :D

Asked about the first Old Firm game - “well I think Gerrard would love to be in the position to spend £7m on a defender as Celtic are very cash rich”

What a fanny.
But if he was paying £7m on a defender he wouldn’t buy a diddy only good enough to warm their bench.
