The scum at Hampden

Seeing as we now have a final against Celtic next month, here’s just some of the absolute madness calls they’ve had at Hampden over the years in games. Incompetence, cheating, pressure getting to officials, call it whatever you want.

Motherwell 0-2 Celtic - 2017 League Cup Final - Sinclair dives for a penalty at 0-0, receives it and Motherwell scandalously go down to 10 men.

Hearts 0-3 Celtic - 2018 League Cup Semi-Final - Ryan Christie dives for a penalty early in the second half, score is 0-0 and Willie Collum awards Celtic a penalty.

Hearts 1-2 Celtic - 2019 Scottish Cup Final - Hearts leading 1-0, Odsonne Edouard dives over the keeper in the box and is awarded a penalty by Willie Collum. Yet another disgraceful decision

Rangers 0-1 Celtic - 2019 League Cup Final - Just the three Celtic players offside from a dead ball for the winner.

Hibs 1-2 Celtic - 2021 League Cup Final - Furuhashi was offside for Celtic’s equaliser. John Beaton then denies Hibs an absolute stonewall penalty in the last few minutes at 2-1 when Starfelt pushed Ryan Porteous to the ground

Celtic 1-2 Rangers - 2022 Scottish Cup Semi-Final - Rangers might’ve won this game but don’t ever forget Celtic nearly scored despite Daizen Maeda being 5 YARDS offside. Celtic also scored from a quick free kick that wasn’t even a foul!

Celtic 2-0 Kilmarnock - 2023 League Cup Semi-Final - Kilmarnock were denied an absolute stonewall penalty at 1-0 in stoppage time when the Greek striker wrestled the Kilmarnock player to the ground. Willie Collum and VAR blatantly ignore it and Celtic then go up the other end of the park and score to seal their place in the final.

Aberdeen 3-3 Celtic - 2024 Scottish Cup Semi-Final - Kyogo clearly fouls the Aberdeen player which led to the first goal and just. the two clear penalties denied to the sheep yesterday. Apparently he he wasn’t giving for a foul on Johnston yet it’s clearly not a foul.

No doubt about it, we’re going to have to beat Celtic and whoever the officials are (probably Clancy or Collum) to win this cup next month. The decisions they get in big games with high stakes is embarrassing.

Said the very same thing today. Every single semi-final they have been in in recent years.

I've put it on another thread. The range of questionable decisions given against clubs or in favour of them all adds up over the season imo.
I think that its not too far ranged to consider that they have a squad of 12 th men ready and willing for the mbanks.

Make no mistake we are right up against the establishment that day.

We have been massively cheated by the sfa and may 25th will be no different. The players need coached now in how to avoid bookings and tainted refereeing decisions.

On the flip side there was the 2015 semi final where Celtic were denied a penalty while being 1-0 up before half time.

They went on to lose and their compliance officer Tony McGlennan was so furious that he had Josh Meekings banned for the final.

Edit - To clarify, they get wild decisions and if there's something they aren't happy with we never hear the end of it.

As I posted on another thread, they stroll onto pitches in Scotland knowing that refs will ignore the rules and laws of the game where Celtc are concerned. Stealing yards at throw-ins, blocking opponents free kicks and never sanctioned, repeated fouling ignored, the endless diving, even blatant handballs also deliberately ignored by officials, etc. It just goes on and on. We will need to play the perfect game to beat them. That is a certainty.

Even in the 55 season the cheating was rife. We were just that good and them that pish that it didn't matter in the end and wasn't discussed as much. It's when things are close that these decisions from officials stand out more and have a bigger impact. As pish as we've been in the last few matches, if officials had officiated fairly this season then I'm convinced that we would still be ahead by a good few points.

Can go back as far as you like to see how they benefit form corrupt officials

Joe the dip/disallowed goal in 89 or the penalty in 77 to name the ones I remember the most but it’s always existed

They will get a favourable ref and we are powerless to stop it

Versus a weakened Hearts side who'd been unfairly demoted whilst they played players who weren't even registered for the competition.

2018 LC final vs Aberdeen. Referee awarded them a penalty for a foul about 2 yards outside the box with the game in the balance.

In the same game Boyata wiped out Mckay Steven in the box with a headbutt (much worse than what the filth got a pen for at Easter Road a few weeks ago). Decision was to stop game for a clash of heads.

There is plenty more incidents than those in the OP. I’ve been saying for years their recent cup successes have been littered with industrial scale cheating and shitebaggery in the games at Hampden.

Officials are utterly terrified of the consequences of giving a decision that made stop them winning a trophy.

No what I mean is, if there's a decision that they aren't happy with then there's hell to pay.

Going back a bit but it happened right in front of me so stuck in my memory. Roy Aitken kicks the ball out then quickly takes a throw while Gary Stevens is remonstrating and Celtic score to win 1 - 0.
Just watched it back. Ref looks like he’s giving it to us then waves play on. Gary Stevens is brutal with the pass back to be honest.

This patter is horrendous. Did we not used to laugh at the Tims for all of their tin foil hat conspiracies?

Were are the 'tin foil hat' conspiracies here?

I suppose me watching John Greig crossing over a ball for Derek Johnstone in the 77/78 League Cup final and the subsequent goal being disallowed because Greig's momentum in getting the ball across carried him across the touchline is 'tin foil hat' too?

Every game played all over the world that happens and never once have I ever known a goal to be disallowed. But conveniently just this one time.

That 2019 league cup final was a fucking disgrace

Are you saying that the referees/SFA have been biased in favour of Celtic for the best part of 50 years?

Are you saying that the referees/SFA have been biased in favour of Celtic for the best part of 50 years?

Well in 1969, the SFA banned a referee for a month, James Callaghan, for not doing his job in a LC tie between us and the yahoos at Parkhead.

A Celtic player, John Hughes, already on a booking (no cards back then) assaulted a Rangers player, Willie Johnston, in the middle of the park and declined to take the appropriate action.

So you tell me?
