I would love it to as well. I think he is capable of more.

But I also think he is electric, he assists assists and teams shit it from him that much they double.up on him and leave gaps.

There's no other player on that park you want the ball to land at when we break.

I absolutely love Ryan Kent, one of my favourite players. I just feel the stats argument, whilst it is a talking point, is often used as a rod to beat him with.
Agree with pretty much all of this. A terrific player when on top form, but with the talent he has, especially being two footed, he should score a lot more for us but I always want to see his name on the team sheet.

I will be surprised if he’s still with us at the end of the window as it’s unthinkable that his European performances won’t have caught the eye & Gerrard will possibly come in for him as well.

I will be sorry to see him go.

I think it will be due to a built up frustration at our perceived lack of activity so far

He’s the only real concrete target in the media and if we fail to land him given the relatively smallish fee, I suspect there will be an uproar from a lot of fans

Doubt Gio will be happy either

There's a difference between being our only real perceived target in the media and what we're actually doing in reality, outside the media.

Not a chance Colak is the only player we're in current discussions with.
We'll also have our in house contract extensions being negotiated too.

Mental we've got fans of ours retweeting tims on twitter just to take swipes at Ross Wilson. It's mad how petty our fans can become when they are desperate to be proven right.

Claiming we don't have a scouting network because we are trying to sign Colak. Despite us being linked with Colak when he played in Croatia for Rijeka about 3 seasons ago before he signed for PAOK. Around the same time we were linked with Gojak at Dinamo Zagreb.

I think Kent will sign a contract extension, sooner rather than later.

The "Thick as shite, attention seeking Loyal."

They really are pathetic.

If PAOK are going to drag their heels until they have had a replacement, it could take weeks. Given that Colak is likely to come in as 2nd or 3rd choice striker I think we should be moving on. If we have a shortlist with only one name on it then that is an issue that needs addressing.

We’ve identified Lovro Majer, Joey Veerman and Skov Olsen as targets that we just couldn’t find that extra £1m or so for, who have since shown how good they are. Doekhi will do the same. I have no issues with our scouting. We just need to find a way to increase our funds, possibly through selling a couple of players.

The latter is hard to do when to date, nobody whatsoever has shown their hand and came for a player.

I dont think the club were linked with any of those players. All those players bar Doekhi have been players suggested on here for us to sign.

Pretty clear what Rangers were telling fan media yesterday was true, a bid has been accepted for a while and PAOK are stalling to get a new player in. We’ve obviously kept quiet for a bit to let them get someone in, but they are dragging their heels and we decided to go public with it, maybe in part to force their arm.

The player must be beeling. Unlike others saying move on, I think we give them a wee bit more time, if he’s the player we have scouted and decided to pay for then a few more days is worth waiting for rather than go for second choice.

Ffs, I genuinely don’t know how some people get through the day

But what about the "model"!
I hope he does, though, but it may be naive to think he hasn't attracted interest from a good few clubs.

The "model" doesn't mean you need to sell every single player though.
:))

You keep the core of a successful side and sell one or two players each season.

As for Kent, I'm sure he will be attracting plenty interest, but I still think he'll sign a new deal.
There's always the chance that we'll get an offer we can't refuse for him, but I believe he is currently happy at Rangers.

Im not suggesting we do have that. Im suggesting if we did it would be an issue. Hopefully we don’t so therefore there is no issue. If its a few extra days then we should wait. But, paok trying to get their own replacement could take weeks if their target is also part of a transfer ‘saga’ (hate that term). If that was to be the case I would move on and remain calm about our situation.

The PAOK managers interview basically confirms what Heart and Hand etc are saying.

We have agreed a fee, player wants to come, but PAOK are holding things up, which as confirmed by their manager is down to them looking for a replacement.

I would be confident that the deal will happen within the week.
Got a link to this mate?

You surely don't seriously believe we have a shortlist with only one name on it?

Get real mate.

I'm not fussed about Colak either way but if he is the guy we want waiting a few days or even a week or so is no issue.

If it potentially drags on for a few weeks we should move on to alternatives.

With doubts over Alfie and Roofe's fitness we really should be looking to have a striker in place by mid July or thereabouts.

Not sure what makes you think i do believe that mate? I said ‘if’ and also clarified that the ‘if’ is unlikely. Given that colak is likely to be our 2nd or 3rd striker and not our main man (although he may well become that for all we know and that would be brilliant), I would imagine we have a fairly decent sized list.

Really good point. Totally agree

Good point, but would this model, which I have't heard anyone at Ibrox mention btw, have meant selling Kent last year, and still hope to get to a European final? Someone yesterday also came up with the idea of selling three Pattersons a season; three!. About Patterson, when people mention the need to make a sale to fund our activity, why do they overlook the Patterson money as part of that, and become the prophets of doom about what we will or won't do this summer, suggesting we need to make even more sales?

Colak is a good start.

As long as Morelos stays I'd be happy with Alfie & Colak as our 2 main strikers.

Personally I'd also replace Roofe due to injuries but if he stays I'll sleep better knowing we have someone else to help cover Morelos.

We now need a RW. Hopefully someone with a good pedigree that will add goals and assists.

CB still worries me.. I don't like the idea of Souttar & Helander being the main 2 to partners for Goldson. If the cash is there I'd like to see a sign a quality partner for Goldson that's consistent & reliable.

And if I'm being really greedy a forward thinking CM is required. Davis, Jack, Lundstram & Kamara are all very similar. A better, younger Arfield if you like.

The last 2 probably rely on us making the CL.

Agree 100% that we wait if he’s the number one target. If the deal is £1.8m as widely reported it’s basically the Itten fee which is good business for us.

Those stamping their feet insisting we walk away just want someone (anyone) in the door.

I get that you are saying “if” but even by suggesting it you are making assumptions that we only have one option. There is absolutely nothing to suggest we have a list one player the as we can’t say that there “if we have a list with 500 players on it”.

The answer is really that none of us know, for years we as fans have been enraged about rumour and private matters coming out of the Club but now that we are keeping things in-house the Club are also criticised it lose/lose

If he's coming in as second or third striker then we can afford to wait. Well that would be the logical take on it anyway!

Sky Sports News are still running the story thay a fee and personal terms have been agreed for Colak.

Their manager pretty much confirmed that is true as well.

It's frustrating and you wonder how long Rangers will give them to sort themselves out with a replacement.

I agree regards the striker situation.

As far as an attacking midfielder is concerned, until he leaves, I'd say Aribo is the forward thinking CM you mention.

If he leaves, then he will definitely need replaced.

His "assists" number I often think would be higher if you measured the pass before the pass, or the move that opened the space etc.
Been a while since I've seen that stat but when I did, his secondary assists number wasn't impressive either. At that time, Hagi was ahead in both. It's notable that Kent’s xA was a lot less than his actual assists last season too, so he's due a correction down. To be fair, he's due a correction up with his goals. Your last point yes, a player who specialises in dribbling will open up space in a different way to others. I won't be panicking like many on here if he doesn't sign on, there are plenty good players in that position. Celtic proved that last season, though you need some money to do it.

*Insert maths equation gif* B-)

We need the RIGHT PLAYERS in the door, not just players.

It’s frustrating, but ultimately we need to think forward to May, 2023, and that will determine if our buys have been right.

You mean Twitter identified them then a lot of paper talk about them
We were never in for any of them

Hopefully Colak announced next couple of days but I would still like another one or two in sooner rather than later.
