I think Clement is telling a wee white porkie regarding injuries and our cure to all those ailments. Non robust players pick up injuries. Players like Jack have been picking up injuries all through their careers. That won't change....he's as robust as a prawn cracker.
I personally don't think he will change either which I agree wouldn't look good for Clement, we will find out soon enough.

For what it’s worth, Lennon Miller won’t leave Motherwell to sit on a bench and play limited games.

He will only leave for a club which guarantees he will play most weeks.

The boy has his head screwed on. It’s more than money to him.
If he believes in his ability he will think he can play for us.

I guess the question is would Miller get regular games under us then?

He's shown ability at SPL level, but the demands of playing at Ibrox where you have to win every game, as well as big European nights.

It's a risk, but could pay off massively if it comes off in terms of resell value and showing young players there's a chance to break in to the team.

I think he’ll have a look at similar young players in his position who never get a chance in our team. His best mate Bailey Rice is the obvious example. He was streets ahead of Miller in the Motherwell team. We sign him and he’s not featured regularly over 3 managers now and he’s miles behind Miller.

Miller will also look those who have moved to England/abroad and think that’s the move for him as you can see a lot of success stories.

It is near impossible for a young central midfielder to become a starter for Rangers. I think over both us and Celtic, it’s only really Barry Ferguson and Callum McGregor who have been able to do it in my lifetime.

We aren’t the draw that we like to think we are these days.

In your opinion, would you have him in the team? Clement has previous with developing young players, so I don't think he would think twice if the player is ready and good enough.

I think he’s a great player and I would love us to sign all the best young talent in Scotland.

If he was any other position other than a central midfielder, I think he would have a chance at us.

Being guided by his da Liam Miller according to transfer guru Fraz Fletcher.

I think there's room for him. I suppose it depends on who is leaving.

It's a difficult one, Miller has a lot of talent but he is still young and inexperienced if we don't go for him now then he might become out of our price range if he continues to improve.

Barry was 20 when he became a regular at us and McGregor was 21 when he became a regular at that lot, I think we should sign him and loan him back to Motherwell and then put him on a pathway to the first team because we can't keep losing out on the best talent in the country.

I mentioned on here last week that I was speaking to his older brother about him and the feeling was he wanted to go to Spain to further his career.

Like you say, his head is screwed on and he won't chase a few extra thousand pounds a week from us at this stage of his career to sit on the bench.

I once watched Ted McMinn do that on the wing as the opponent nipped by him. Mad.
I think what happened was that when the opponent went by him, Ted slipped and fell and then must have thought; "Well, since I'm down here I might as well just stick my head in the way of the guys feet and the ball" :))

We don't have the funds to buy a player for 3or4 million then loan him back to Motherwell for that outlay he needs to be someone who is a regular starter
Although we do need to get in a position to be able to buy the best young Scottish talents but we aren't there at the minute

I’ll say it again but people put way too much stock into the role of a captain these days. It’s talked about like they can completely change a team. It’s nonsense.
Exactly - with this logic would people be happy if we signed Graeme shinnie ???

Doesnt help when your bringing on guys like scott wright when your 3 or 4 up against lower opposition in the cups infront of boys like rice

I get that bud, as you say in an ideal world once we have a proper player trading model going then a couple million punt on players shouldn't be out of the question.

I think its more the general consensus that Miller is one of the brightest talents in the past few years and to miss out on another talent in the league would be frustrating.

McGregor likely only able to get the game time due to being absolutely zero pressure on celtix at the time as well. Had we been in the top league he wouldn't have got the same opportunity to play games and make mistakes they way he did.

Truth is we don’t have a good record bringing these sort of players into the first team and developing them. Until that changes and we see evidence of that, young players will feel they will develop better elsewhere

The amount of people not understanding why a guy would want to sign for a championship club pushing for promotion to the best league in the world next season rather than playing at dens park in the Scottish winter is astounding

Maybe he already knows how feckin toxic it will get for him if it takes him a few weeks to settle at Rangers from the same arrogant section of the support who are "embarrassed" by a guy choosing Norwich over Rangers.

I’m not sure he’s at a stage to move up a level and be guaranteed regular playing time.

What he does need to find is a club and a coach that will guide him through these early years - Gilmour at Brighton being a good example.

I agree with this..

Near every team we come up against in Europe they have South Americans ripping it up but when us and the Tims get them in they have rarely turned out well.

Bernabei and Cifuentes couldn't settle recently and I do struggle to think of any other that has done well for us or them.
Alfie?

Exactly what Max Johnston done and went to Austria. A wise head will know that playing is the most important thing for progression. You'd be daft to come to us and pop lay the odd bounce game.
