I don’t think Sima is going to leave Brighton on loan again so will need to be a fee and given his injuries last season I don’t know if he’s worth upwards of £6m when that kind of money could buy 2 or 3 decent players.

The thing with Sima is that we are essentially spending a big fee for us to essentially stand still.

If we had faith in our recruitment, you'd think we'd be looking to go and get a better value player who is better than Sima. It's a big ask but we need to be economical with our funds and we need to be better than last season not stood still.

So we're signing a player with historical injuries?! You couldn't make it up!

It sounds like these haven’t hindered Cerny over the last couple of seasons to be fair.

When I had a look on Wiki, it does look as if he’s only played 20-25 matches a year on average in his career. We would be asking him to play around double that in a normal season. As we know, there’s little or no recovery time for injuries if you’re a Rangers player.

If the Lammers thing is true then that would be great news. He is guy who just clearly can't play abroad. He is a good player in the Dutch league and that seems to be his bread and butter.

Now if we could get Dessers for 3m plus then happy days and reinvest that in players who have pace and can finish.

Someone's edited Cerny's wiki page already!

Be interesting to see a comparison between him and Kuhn who the tims got from the same club. (I think)

Watched the Cerny clips and I like what I see!

I always try to ignore the 2 or 3 best goals in these reels, as, let's be honest even a Dessers highlights reel would look decent. Instead I try to get an idea of the player's style.

With Cerny, I was pleased to see he is happy to go outside of fullbacks and shoot or cross with his weaker (right) foot. I think this is a big plus compared to wingers who can only ever cut in (hello Matondo)

Lammers out and Cerny in woukd change the dynamic of the summer straight away. A problem position filled from an excess player moving out.

Central midfield and striker next and then it’s just about replacing players (Goldson/Tav) as and if they move on.

FWIW I would be happy with shankland and either Danilo for our strikers next year. A fit Danilo will get goals and shankland ia the type of guys who wins us the Dundee / Ross County games we dropped points in last year.

We don’t I agree. The only way we get a good record though is to actively develop them. They don’t get that without game time as well as good coaching. Not saying either Devine or king will be world beaters, but having guys like them develop into at least a reliable back up helps keep wage budget low, home grown quota filled and lets us focus our budget on areas that need more attention. This is all more long term stuff with them as examples but if we are serious about self sustainability and a trading model, then it’s imperative we start to actually do these things. We should have done it years ago but we can’t change the past, only the future direction of the club
Agreed

Very much still net positive but I would imagine we would need to give Lammers €1 million plus of that to bigger off and make up for the wages shortfall he will likely take.

Best €1 million spent in many a year to be fair.
Will be annoying that he goes and scores 20 goals a season in a better league tho
