Official The Summer 2025 Rangers Window Rumours and Deals - Read First post for Warning

How can you say that with any kind of conviction? His international teammate, Amadou Onana, moved from Lille to relegation threatened Everton. Players just want to head to the Premier League, to showcase themselves and hope to gain a move to a bigger side down the line.
OK maybe I shouldn't have said 100%. In my opinion he wouldn't be interested in a lower end club. Time will tell.

If Raskin seems unwilling to sign a new deal then he’s offski, because we’re surely not risking taking a huge bump on him should he run his contract down to a year. At his peak value now so if there are serious offers, we will be listening and then hopefully reinvesting. Anything over £15m would be very welcome in my opinion

It may be an interesting question for Raskin given the World Cup in twelve months - he needs a strong season to get into that squad.

Playing at Rangers hasn't been a hindrance. But who knows how we will be under the manager. Similarly he doesn't want to disappear into being a squad player at a struggling EPL club.

We will get more than 15m for him right now. We need to stop this underselling our players.
You’re correct and I’d be wanting more this summer.

I’m talking about us having him on the pitch next season and making a good profit. Might be the only way we can make this happen. Then again there may be another scenario that plays out

Posters on here claiming a Belgian journalist reported it at the time.
£1.5m fee plus £500,000 add on with 20%sell on.
Seems bit much to me under the circumstances.
But we all wanted him and there would be some kind of meltdown if we missed out. That was the deal we needed to do to get him. As things have panned out we will still make a healthy profit and it enhances our profile as a pathway to bigger leagues. The more we do this the better for attracting players

Reports at the time suggested that was in place.

No idea if it's true, but it's not a huge surprise in all honesty. We wanted him in the January so that we didn't have to compete with a load of other clubs who would have been in for him when his contract was up.

In a similar fashion, we have a load of clauses in the deal for Zak Lovelace and he was going to be out of contract mere months later.
Had we not already signed him on a bosman though? Why would we be competing with other clubs in that case?

I have no idea if any of it is true either matter, I’m just spitballing here I suppose.

So it’s 20% of the profit then?
Which means it will be 20% of the majority of the transfer fee considering how little we paid for raskin.

So roughly if we sell raskin for £15million then SL are due £2.7 million.

Might be in our interests to try to maximise the sell on % we insert into sale e en if means accepting slightly less up front fee, especially if he doesn’t move to an epl club next, Porto or a similar level club would be perfect for us as as they are excellent at flipping players especially for big money.

In that instance would Liege be owed 20% of anything we earned from a sell-on?

We hadn't, no. At the time, his club were refusing to play him as he wasn't signing a contract, and he was desperate to get a move to somewhere to be playing in the Belgium U21s that summer.

From memory, the reports suggested he wouldn't sign a pre-contract so as not to just allow us to wait it out as such.

They would, yeah. Technically, if we made more out of some sort of sell-on percentage, it would mean Raskin was sold for whatever the total is rather than just the initial fee.

Would defo take big Aribo back but as a 10. Watched Southampton a few times this season and he was centre mid. He was wasted.
They had him playing centre back a couple of times, too. Not under Martin I should add.

Random poster on RR saying Joe Aribo's agent met with RM yesterday.

Was he not an agent we did quite a lot of deals with previously? I expect he is someone like the lad from peterborough's agent.

Edit.

Was Sheji Ojo and Josh Maja. Bound to be some championship youngsters we are having a look at.

I know Aribo will be on a big wage at Southampton but depends what clauses are in these players contracts. Most sensible low end PL clubs include wage decrease for most players in the event of relegation.
