He was an absolute flop for us. Frequently injured and numerous shite performances when he was fit. The most experienced, biggest name, supposed leader in one of our worst ever defenses. We came third to an Aberdeen team on a fraction of our budget that season in case you forgot. You're in total denial here.

Candeias - good player, labourer, gave something special every 1 in 5 games and loved scoring. Knew what it meant. Missed this season to a degree.
Alves - great cv but mediocre for us and rarely available. Not missed.
Cardoso - good prospect in the wrong league with us. Not missed.

I don't get this argument. Why does Alves get a free pass but it's okay to slate the other players from our team at that time?

He was as much a part of the dugmeat as anyone else, with his experience he should've been leading on the pitch and helping the other players around him. Take Bates for example, ultimately he wasn't good enough but he contributed far more for Rangers than Alves ever did. I don't see him getting allowances because the rest of the team were shite.
