The usual suspects roll out the excuses for the vile conspiracy theorist Tom Boyd

The filth are going to be unbearable this season. This is all just a part of their sinister intimidation campaign that has resulted in referees being terrified of giving anything against them. Boyd's comments weren't made in a pub or a supporters bus, they were made on the club's official TV channel and he should be removed from his role.

The refs have went on strike once already. What's to stop them doing it again?

I actually hope they do mate, and draw the world’s attention to this cult’s behaviour.

What was their banner saying ? The whole 19th Century Terrorist army ? These scumbags look at this as war.

Think it has already been mention that he is an official club ambassador.as another poster pointed out unless Celtic pull Boyd up then they agree with his point.
Another thing is that beaton received death threats from Celtic fans and his kids had to get a police escort to school.boyds comments considering what happened to beaton are crass and stupid.
Celtc don't give a toss for the welfare of a ref or anyone else for that matter a despicable rancid club like no other

You know what’s happening here BABN.

These bastards are making it impossible for Beaton ( and probably others indirectly in terms of getting a message to them ) to ref our games objectively.

The guy will be shifting it to give us a wrong decision so every marginal will go against us.

The games a fucking bogey in this shite hole.
Pretty much mate, been going on for years, inTIMidation.

We should see what the outcome of this is, then get someone in rtv to say something almost identical and see what happens.

It's different strokes for different folks, though - fuming at a poor Bobby Madden display, Craig Levein said it was like playing against 13 men. He was quick to add that Lennon had said the same thing a few weeks earlier and noted that he didn't get any punishment, so he said it in relative safety.

Levein got a one game ban.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but was it Beaton who reffed the rangers Motherwell game where he waved play on at a volley to the face of a rangers player! and a two footed slidetakle into Ryan Jacks knee?

The point they’re both missing - Boyd is An Official Celtic Ambassador, not some random ex-pro with a mic. When he speaks, he speaks for Celtic Football Club. If they back his statements then they are, in effect, accusing Scottish football of being corrupt. If this isn’t bringing the game into disrepute, then what is?

This is exactly the point.

Boyd isn’t some groin brigade jakey type (well, he is actually, but not in this context), he is a club official. An ambassador for Separate Entity FC.

As such, his comments, and his employers response to those comments, both bring the game into disrepute. They really are a shower of cheating c.unts over there. They’ll try any form of intimidation to eek out their usual refereeing advantage.

Noticeable that they’re ramping up the efforts before the first OF. They are bricking it.

TBH I would agree with them but obviously they are missing the major issue here - Boyd is a current employee of Bheast FC and therefore he has to be held accountable just the same as all the rest of the idiots that make a tit of themselves in public.

Here's something that hasn't been mentioned in this matter - well 2 things.

1. That is the first Celtic game he has reffed this year!
2. No mention of Celtic's statement regarding the game on 29th December where they WEREN'T punished!

That they weren't punished for that is disgraceful!

What has also been forgotten is that it wasn't until days after the game that there was a furore about Beaton's performance..................at the time, nobody had ANY complaints.

Celtic Football Club is surprised that there will be no disciplinary action taken by the Scottish FA regarding the incidents during the match on December 29, which have been widely addressed in the media.

It is reported that no action was taken because the match referee saw all of the incidents in question.

Given that the referee took no action at the time, this tends to suggest that such conduct, which in one instance led to a Celtic player, Anthony Ralston, being injured, is acceptable in Scottish football. That cannot be right.

On the day, Celtic did not play well enough to win the match, something we accept. However, this issue goes beyond the result of the match.

Celtic is not the only club this season to raise concerns regarding the standard of officiating at matches in Scotland, concerns which have also been shared by many commentators on the game.

In order to fully understand what is going on, Celtic, our supporters, Scottish clubs and the general Scottish football public need transparency in these matters, and we therefore call on the Scottish FA to allow the referee, John Beaton, to explain these decisions publicly as well as any match officials involved in other similar circumstances.

In the meantime, we have requested a meeting with Scottish FA Chief Executive, Ian Maxwell, and the Association's Head of Refereeing.
