Whatever happens we need to make sure we keep the bulk of our squad. We cannot afford to lose any of the main players. Players like Stewart or Jones I can see going out.

My highlight of the transfer window this thread!
Pretty satisfied with the squad overall but think the focus on should be bringing in competition for the wide positions, would maybe see an increase in Kent’s output if he had a bit of competition.

The OP always pulls together a great thread. I suspect it will be a quiet January for us though unless we lose one of our big guns.

I think at best we will see a loan deal with a few fringe players going out the door.

As said, depending on the news about Jack and Arfield Id be looking at a loan / perm midfield option. Possibly in time for OF game? Having said that we have brought in Zungu

We have managed to bring in summer targets in January the last 2 seasons so maybe will happen again. Gives time to bed in.

Defoe, Davis, Kamara, Hagi..

We wouldn’t be signing anyone with a view to a game in a few days time. Anyway, SFA aren’t back open til the day of the for registrations.

Previously said one wide attacker with a bit of pace that's an upgrade on Barker.
As mentioned by @SuperGers07 we probably need a midfielder now also.
We can't go buying players for midfield unless Jack and Arfield are long term crocks.
Zungu was signed for midfield. We need to use him now until both are fit again.

Mistakenly said it on the thread about pre contracts yesterday that I’m hoping the board can push the boat out for a player, one player of real quality to come in and improve the starting 11 to push us over the line. It would be worth the extra investment also as the Champions path for CL qualification is far easier than the league path which will be extremely difficult for us to qualify from. This is also true for the puddle drinkers so no CL money next year either if we get it over the line. Hopefully Ross Wilson has something up his sleave!

Katic will be back fit soon and we have already coped without Edmundson for half a season basically
Katic wont be back fit until near the end of the season and we need 4 CB's fit for squad rotation.

If we get rid of Edmundson then we have no options if Balogun or Helander get injured again.

I thought it was fairly simple to understand but obviously not

Take it Bassey is incapable of playing centre half then? Thought as much Edmundson has done %^*& all for 6 months all he has contributed is an own goal and we have been fine he can go

Maybe a loan or something in midfield with Arfield and Jack out. Some deadwood like Stewart out - can't see it being too eventful a window for us.

Bassey is left back cover for Barisic

Maybe you could follow the Walter Smith rule of jamming anyone in anywhere and having Bassey play midfield like Smith used to play Moore.

You are just digging yourself a deeper hole and highlighting even further the basic grasp of anything to do with football that you seem to lack.

Jones will end up at Stoke IMO, probably on a loan deal with option to buy in the summer.

Stewart will end up at Hearts.

Edmundsson will be kept for the rest of the season in case we suffer injuries/suspensions then he’ll be moved on in the summer.

I think we’ll be looking to bring in 1, probably on loan, to give greater squad depth in the forward areas.

If Arfield and Jacks injuries don’t heal by the middle of January then I’d expect us to being in another midfielder too.

Bassey has already played centre back for us.

With Jack still out and return timescale unknown along with Arfields injury, I think Rangers will need to enter the loan market in January for a midfielder. We cannot sit still. Proactive please
Longstaff of Newcastle, not sure which one it is

I think we will bring in Thomas Robert from Airdrie. Just a hunch with no particular reasoning behind it.
Interesting. Wasn't his move to Airdrie part of some dodgy deal involving an English club? With a view to him then signing for the English club after a short period? Can't remember the details but sure there was some talk of that at the time.

Has he been playing well for Airdrie?

Tims are interested in him
