Who signed a contract extension in the last few months? I might be thinking about Souttar’s rumoured contract but I was sure there was someone else.

I'll post this here despite having posted it elsewhere because it probably fits best here.

We're allowed to have three 'new players'/changes to the European squad.

If we were to bring in Danilo and Hagi to replace a couple already in there, that's two of those three, and only leaves the one.

We know Kasanwirjo is going to drop out.

This may have an effect on incomings, and possibly outgoings too.

I think a new centre half is a certainty to arrive and will be added to the Europa squad - if we progress.

Over and above that, I reckon anything else depends on outgoings. Hopefully Dessers and Dowell depart, with replacements brought in.
 
if we can replace Dessers....I know he got some goals but I'd like a striker who causes opposition defenders a headache, drags players out of position, holds the ball up and brings other players into play, and is capable to be more clinical at finishing.

Perhaps Bringing in an number 10, a player that has something special about him, able to unlock packed defences and is forward and direct....which seems to be an issue for us in the midfield area...
Also perhaps a solid, commanding centre back who has a presence about him.

Also I don't want to sh*t on Tav here but as time has went on its only inevitable he is on the downward trend....I would like a really old school captain who wouldn't settle for second best and wouldn't be afraid to get tore right into the team when the chips are down.

Not asking for much.

Also try rinse out the players who contribute next to nothing on that squad list. Quite a few names there.

For me it’s why I can see maybe Lyall Cameron signing a deal with us but not joining until the summer.

You’ll probably see Danilo and hagi both included then another, possibly a centre half to replace Kasanwirjo. Ideally you could bring in another striker and midfielder but I can’t see that happening if they can’t be included in the European squad.

Ideally we can ship out dessers, Lawrence, dowell but it will be difficult to shift those deals.

Not convinced we'll add both of them TBH. Reckon it'll be one or the other.
 
Need a CB who can also cover full back positions. Sterling and Ridvan both have been very injury prone and there is no evidence to suggest that either can last the season

I’d sign him and give them Rice and Curtis to the end of the season. Let’s see how the fare.
 
Pick 2/3 positions and get the right players in - don’t try and fix all our issues at once.

2/3 good signings in January and the same in the summer and it will make a big difference.

Agree with others that prioritising spine of the team is the way to go, my only doubt is how reliant Clement’s shape is on good wide players. We lack those and we lack players who can really hurt opposition if left 1v1 in wide areas.

Got told we’ve spoken to Jack Mackenzie by a bloke who has some links to a few SPFL clubs. Likely to be bollocks, but rumours thread etc.

Meh. Cheap back up to Jefte if we can punt Yilmaz, which we absolutely should.
 
Kenny McLean should have been signed in the summer and if there was any chance of a deal still to be done he should be signed in this window. Staunch, robust (injury wise), in great form, knows this league and would bring much needed steel and know how to a key area of our team. Apparently he wants to come and all that stopped him in the summer is we wouldn't give him a 3 year deal as opposed to a 2 year deal which is understandable from his perspective. Instead of throwing circa £6m at journeymen like Dessers or circa £4m at projects like Diomande a Kenny Mclean type or two would be most welcome, even if we do only get the best out him for 2 years it'd be worth it.
