I’d be against signing him on a permanent but a 6 month loan to help us through the injury problems and ensure we don’t burn out Nsala I would be okay with. Has there actually been any genuine rumours of Katic? I can’t even see where this one has come from!

It came from Craig Moore suggesting him as a signing along with another player might have been Jonny Evans on Go Radio and it's just completely took off.

Ah right so not a rumour but a suggestion haha! We need a separate thread every transfer window for “rangers suggestions” (and then maybe a third for “rant about previous managers/signings here and don’t derail the transfer rumours thread!”.

I’ve never known a quieter window when it comes to actual genuine rumours.

Simple. The defenders we currently have are not up to the job.

Souttar and Balogun are our best pairing, both are injury prone and Balogun's deal runs out in 4 months.

Propper is not suited to Scottish football, a poor signing.

Nsiala has shown promise, but will likely be 4th choice next season or loaned out to gain more experience

King is not rated by the management and will likely follow Lowry out the door in this window.

Fernandes has been brought in for the Club to have a look with view to a summer switch, I doubt he features for the first team unless he comes in for a couple of meaningless league games in May.

Ps. Katic is waiting on our call and would instantly become our best centre half - ability wise and availability!

No, he really wouldn’t.

There's a lot of sane-washing going on with the Katic stuff. It's a ridiculous shout. He wasn't good enough before and isn't good enough now.

We finally have the beginnings of a professional recruitment setup—one that doesn’t rely on re-signing old players or Michael Beale squeezing in weekend scouting missions between aperitivos and sightseeing excursions with his old man.

Apologies, souttar as 18 months so he has to sign a new deal (hopefully on wages to reflect he’d be a 3/4th choice) or be sold in the summer. He’ll likely a new deal for euro squad reasons.

We needed two starting centre half’s in the summer and still need two now unless Fernandes is a guaranteed starter. Not seen any of him.
I’d agree on needing two last summer and still having the same need.

Looks like he’s more suited to playing on the right than the left going by comments by his former coach at youth level.

Interesting. Actually think Propper looks better from the right, like Souttar does. It's a left footed, big bastard we need at the back to double up games with Nsiala.

Would you say in the last month or so Propper has been more reliable than the previous months ?
My view is that Propper is absolutely fine against teams that want to play football.
Essentially the better teams.

When he comes against a physical opponent he really struggles.
So against much of the SPL whose entire game plan revolves around crosses from set pieces or isolating him he is found wanting.
He’s a decent footballer but doesn’t look like a player suitable for the demands of the SPL.

Tom Lawrence and Kieron Dowell both in training today hopefully after this United game both are gone as soon as possible.

Depressing seeing these guys still hanging around.

Big wages. Either injured or just not up to it or good enough.

Years of bad recruitment summed up in the one picture.
Hey you can see Hamza in the back!

Could actually do with Lawrence being able to play 20 mins tomorrow, no idea who we look to on the bench if we're losing after 65 mins.

Re younger defenders anyone got an update on how Jack wyllie is progressing seen him play the cup final v Celtic couple of years ago , Findlay Curtis played too , and he looked extremely classy .

Thought it interesting that PC name checked some other players and Paul Nsio was one of them he looked like he had made strong steps in the Glasgow cup final .

We had £3mil+ available to get Bajrami at the end of the window when we all thought we had nothing left to spend. Surely we have the same to buy Lennon Miller IF they are looking for £3/4mil for him?

While I agree we should always be in for the best Scottish players it seems the club doesn’t want to sign them unless they are free transfers.

Its hard to believe that is over 40k per week in wages with those 2. At least Tom Lawrence has a goal in when he is not injured, Dowell offers absolutely nothing.

I presume these players are here until after the European ties? It's too big a risk to let them all go beforehand. If any club is capable of losing every available forward in one training session then it's us. Playing a European final with Aribo and Wright up front, for example.

Fans are wanting to sign Cerny on a permanent deal, he’s had two serious knee injuries I think and missed near enough two full seasons.

Would you be against signing him ?
I’m not 100% for!
He’s been good for us.
It’d have to be a value for money signing.
A few considerations here.

Of course we are all glad to see the back of these high earners in Matondo and Dowell but I do wonder how much we're still paying them as there aint a chance they'll get elsewhere what we've been daft enough to pay them.
Doesn't say we are paying part of his wages as far as I can see. There is an option to buy for £2 million. Let's hope he stays fit.

If Dowell, Lawrence and Matondo were all to leave in this window, and their spots (all three get some level of time on the pitch when fit) given to Rice, Lovelace and Curtis, it would give them a real chance.

However, I'd also be looking for Lovelace and Curtis to be signing new deals before we fully commit to giving them more opportunities. If they're set on leaving, we might want to focus on others for the longer term.
Honestly, I think that news would excite me more than any new signing. They all need a good, long run in the team to determine if they are actually of the right quality or if they're just wasting their time here.

You would need to know the contract and transfer details to claim on this level imo . Don’t think clubs go public on these matters at all often .
