Maybe not but he is in the shop window for EFL clubs. Sunderland and Blackburn have both shown interest. They seemingly have 2 left wingers injured, incl Haji Wright.
Cant see them taking up this option.

Agreed, but also don't know what conversations are being had behind the scenes about both of them being out of contract in the Summer. The youngsters should get chances at home at first, we surely can afford to have one of them as a starter.

A sad sad day

In theory nice idea, but even then we’ve been playing guys like Hagi out of positionI wonder if the plan is to have Lovelace and Curtis fill Matondos space. Can't rely on a perennially injured Cortes and out of position Baj/Ridvan to fill it.
Ideal world yes. How long till this mental thread starts linking us with Nicky Cadden or Finlay Robertson haha.In theory nice idea, but even then we’ve been playing guys like Hagi out of position
It’s £30k a week saved roughly, sign a left winger and get us back in balance that side of park.
Please no.Ideal world yes. How long till this mental thread starts linking us with Nicky Cadden or Finlay Robertson haha.
Seen a few Coventry fans claim we are covering 25% of matondos wages don’t know how true that is tho.

You can’t though . Like Davies he is potentially coming back mate .In theory nice idea, but even then we’ve been playing guys like Hagi out of position

Absolutely. Get that pace back left side and makes us more of a threat. And we don’t have real genuine pace in attack without him.
I think we might try to replace his pace.

Tbf, we don't have genuine pace in attack even with him at the club because he's never fit.And we don’t have real genuine pace in attack without him.

Let’s hope he absolutely tears it up down there and looks like a total steal at £2m.
Honestly, that would still be a great deal for us.Seen a few Coventry fans claim we are covering 25% of matondos wages don’t know how true that is tho.
We must have saved an absolute shitload over the summer to now wage wiseQ is what fraction of the cuts will the board commit to new spending
Tbf, we don't have genuine pace in attack even with him at the club because he's never fit.
It's something we badly need from a regular contributor.
They have 3/4 players on £25k+ so they definitely give out them type of wages according to online anyway.Honestly, that would still be a great deal for us.
I’m skeptical they’re paying 75%.
If Dowell, Lawrence and Matondo were all to leave in this window, and their spots (all three get some level of time on the pitch when fit) given to Rice, Lovelace and Curtis, it would give them a real chance.
However, I'd also be looking for Lovelace and Curtis to be signing new deals before we fully commit to giving them more opportunities. If they're set on leaving, we might want to focus on others for the longer term.
I think it was forecast to be about 8m cut from the annual salary pot mate . People posted there was still a way to go too .We must have saved an absolute shitload over the summer to now wage wise

Would that apply to Cerny?I think it was forecast to be about 8m cut from the annual salary pot mate . People posted there was still a way to go too .
Which he is where we are .
Personally i would be willing to cut three reasonably costly guys to get eg Sima back ( or a player of that type ) .
I feel we deserve to commit at least half of what is now cut but directors are writing the rules . We shall see .
Its hard to believe that is over 40k per week in wages with those 2. At least Tom Lawrence has a goal in when he is not injured, Dowell offers absolutely nothing.
Knew Frank was a good guy

They've got someone who knows what they're doing in the negotiations.Buy option for Matondo

Absolutely. Get that pace back left side and makes us more of a threat.
Ideal scenario is a 6 month loan to buy or someone sitting as a free agent right now and give them 6 months with a years option say.
'Pace' is such an odd thing. If you're talking about an individuals ability to run the 100 metres then I get it. Cerny and Bajrami both have a decent turn of speed when needed. I'd much rather have guys who know how to drag players out of position and create spaces for others than a speed merchant though. Danilo and Hagi have made a big difference to us because they actively seek out spaces to play in and take up clever positions. It's a much more fluid side for it. When you see the likes of Dessers up against the lumps of St Johnstone and St Mirren it ends up being a bore fest as he just bounces off them.
A depressing thought but even if we pick up say 8k of it you are still knocking off the guts of 15-20k a week for somebody that’s never fit or featuring so still a resultWonder what percentage of Matondo's wages we'll still be paying
Sima .Would that apply to Cerny?
Seems to score and contribute consistently although we may not be able to keep him - would you rather have Cerny or Sima?
I don't see it with him, and I'd be wanting a helluva lot more out of a player who cost that amount of money. That coo as you call him causes us a lot more problems than Dessers causes them
There's nothing to suggest we aren't.There is nothing to suggest we are paying a percentage of his wages.
