Thoughts on Candeias?

I've saw a few threads on here about Candeias and personally I do not rate him.
His crossing is abysmal especially at corners.
I just don't think he is ' Rangers Class '.
Time to get rid.
This rangers class that people refer to really is a joke.
What year did we last have a player that was class?
We are where we are due to others mis managing us.
Unfortunately the squad we have are wearing the shirt because someone thinks they are rangers class or money dictates that and we are left to watch them.
WE need to realise where we are as a club.
Mediocre players and journeymen is what we are getting, after the last 4 games is play more youths, I’d imagine they’d would have more fight in them than what I’ve witnessed.
Also any manager that is a strong leader needs in asap.

He's a good player, but has a tendency to disappear at times. Last night was a prime example. He put in a decent shift in the first half, but was pretty anonymous in the 2nd. I don't think it helped that Tav had one of his poorer games.

His crossing is poor? Thats an unbelievable stance.

In the first half we had 4 near goals and he created all of them from a cross. Millers header, near own goal off the bar, free kick through the box into keepers hands, and morelos chance when he hit the post.

The corners were clearly deliberate as we had no height at all. Earlier in the season his corners all went deep to Alves at the bacl post. He hasnt suddenly became incapable of doing that.

His head dropped after his miss. He also really missed Morelos being able to hold the ball up in the second half.

But yeah none of that happened and he is just pish.

He was the worst player on the park last night.

If only we had decent options on the bench he should have been subbed at half time. Can't believe he even got 82 minutes.

Wasted a few corners, never even tried to take on his man all evening, every cross attempt hit a defender, shat out of tackles.

Since Pedro left he's not kicked his own arse, I thought he was pretty decent up to that point but as others have said wide men blow hot n cold unless your windass and your one thermostat setting is freezing.

Him and windass on the wings must have some form of communication! talked shouted nodded even a fekin wink possibly a secret handshake something to say let's switch sides....
Last night Miller supposed to be left wing hardly fekin there free to do as he wants out of position giving balls away so does candeias switch sides or what??

Said start of the season that our wide players and our full backs would cost us big time and it has happened. They are all very poor and worse than last season.

If you think he’s ‘shite’ then take up another sport.

Quick, skilful, loads of effort, decent set pieces and a fairly impressive CV.

If he was completely consistent - allied to the above - then we probably couldn’t afford him, but definitely one of our better players.

He’s only started to struggle since this thing of moving him to the left wing started.

Works hard, puts the odd decent ball in, hides when thins get tough sometimes, I think he’s just an average journey man type of player

Absolutely baffling that people can say with a straight face that his crossing is poor. Folk are either suffering from hysteria after that shite show tonight and are struggling to remember his contributions so far this season, or they simply can't spot something good happening when they see it. Old guys behind me see a good ball into the box where a striker hasn't gambled, and call it a poor cross. Seems there's folk here suffering from the same eye sight problems.

Works hard and has shown he has quality about him. Going through a poor spell of form doesn't change that. Even with poor form, has the 3rd most assists in the league, 1 behind Tav. But aye, he can't cross a ball...

One of the few to keep for a new manager.
Absolutely spot on but sadly once the Hate momentum starts there’s no reigning it back in. He played some lovely stuff in the first half, had a poor second.

He would probably do better a taking corners if Miller would get out his face and stay in the box where he should be.

This infuriates me especially when chasing a win as the opposition come within a few yards and then valuable seconds wasted pointing this out to ref who tried to get them 10 yards and they barely move etc etc

Meanwhile we’ve got one of our main strikers out the box.

It’s fu,cking retarded

An average journeyman player turns out to be average for us

Shock horror

Do you know what mate Football is literally filled with journeyman players. Every SPL team has almost nothing but. 90% of players in the super duper EPL are journeyman footballers. That doesn’t mean they can’t play nor does it mean we can’t expect more from them.

Candieas is at the level I was expecting, decent enough player but lacks consistency which is shown in the amount of clubs and loans he has had

Biggest problem is the other players we have signed are generally a lot worse that I was expecting

Candeias is bang average, can't even put in a decent delivery another journeyman added to the rest of the dross we've accumulated.

when we are playing well, he's an asset
when we are toiling, he's anonymous

but he built up a lot of credit earlier in the season thats covering him for poor form now
a lot of the team haven't got that behind them

Cost us? Tav and Candeias are a huge part of why we’re not sitting in 6th place. 10 assists between them and a handful of goals to boot.

He was very poor last night and too inconsistent for me. He is certainly not the wort signing Pedro made but cannot be relied upon.

Both lose possession easily and we are constantly caught on the break. Left hand side even worse.

But they’ve not cost us big time. Of the last 5 goals we’ve conceded, none could be blamed on Tav or Candeias, and without their contributions, Christ knows where we’d be.

There are so many other players to point the finger at before these two that have contributed absolutely nothing to the team over the course of the season.

he's garbage

finishing is woeful and can't play on the left wing so christ alone knows why managers/coaches keep putting him there

He is a winger without many tricks. Can play a good ball one minute then a terrible one the next. Yes he tries but that is the minimum requirement. Poor at corners. Not our worse performer but certainly not Rangers class. Then again what is Rangers class these days. Anyway, we have others we need to sort out first.

Our midfield is over ran because we play two ineffective wide players who can’t keep possession.
Our defence gets over run as our full backs are constantly out of position and can’t mark an attacker.
Both John and Tavernier were to blame for the 2nd goal.

He's not our biggest problem, he does what he's told to do and does it reasonably well.

The problem is that we play with too much width. We have both fullbacks playing high up the park and two wingers. This leaves the central midfielders out numbered in the middle of the park and means we can't control a football match. What we need to be doing is using less width, but in a more effective manner. Drop Windass, bring in another midfielder (even just keep Holt in when Dorrans is fit again), tell the fullbacks not to push forward as much. Suddenly we might be able to dominate a match andbuild from there.

The stats don’t lie, Candeias is not ineffective. You’re completely ignoring his contributions so far. They cannot he disputed.

Amazed to know how Tav is in any way to blame for John losing his runner.

Don't think we can rule out all of the South American heads being down as a result of Caixhina leaving. Think it's just what they do, they lose heart, gives us a real problem in coming weeks.

Lucky he’s Portuguese then :D

Both had opportunities to tackle and they just ran alongside him. Candieas is poor but because he works hard and is better than Windass he is made out to be fecking brilliant by some.
Last night was his normal form.

It really wasn’t. This is the problem with too many in the support, they only remember the last game and completely discard any positive contributions to date.

Probably the worst player on the park last night.

That would go to the Dundee right back - couldn't cross the road!

Candieas put in enough decent crosses for us to get something - blame the attackers/midfielders.

Don't get why he was switched unless that was to allow Miller more time on the ball as Elton just passed him by

Yes dj not following runner but he shouldn't have been in that position as tav had nice t one but two chances to hoof the ball clear of the penalty area and failed miserably on both attempts.

one of the better signings who did not have the greatest game but always gives 100% if only his team mates put in the same effort

while on - why was he taken off before Miller ?? we then had 3 strikers on, who was meant to cross the ball into the box for the 3 strikers - baffling tactics
This is just one reason Murty shouldn't be the manager

Average at best and his performances lately are rapidly going down hill.Wingers can be inconsistent and needs a spell on the bench but our options are not much better

He's went off the boil of late, barring one fantastic cross last night with his left foot he was largely ineffective again.Tav having his worst game of the season hardly helped matters either right enough.
