Three solutions to the Pittodrie dilemma (sporting integrity et al)

1. Allocate Rangers supporters all of one of their stands, and if this means we get more than 4,000 tickets, then so be it. At least we shall sell them.

2. As we are restricted to 2,000 tickets, Aberdeen then restrict home fan ticket sales to 8,000, thus facilitating the 20% formula.

3. Switch the tie to Murrayfield, then they can have their 20,000 allocation (of which they will probably sell half) and we can sell 40,000, thus making the game a big cash cow for both sides.

There's literally no good reason to refuse us 4000 tickets in that South Stand, rather than the police dictating ticket policy they should be told the number of visiting fans that are coming and have the resources in place to cope with them, it's a fucking joke, there must have been at least 20,000 Bears up there in 87 when we clinched the title.

They escaped relegation twice because other teams grounds were not up to stranded so going by the sporting integrity mantra they should be removed from the tournament if their ground is unsafe to give other clubs its rightful allocation.

They seem to want things both ways when it suits them.

In a nutshell. Enough of this shite. They would expect more tickets at Ibrox so it is imperative the rules are applied here. If Aberdeen cannot accommodate, they should be kicked out of the cup. Rangers should not be penalised for others’ failings.

Here is another alternative. Due to the advent of strict liability and we know who it is aimed at. Rangers should refuse all ticket allocations for away games, except europe. The unable to boycott loyal can purchase them from the opposition and let them deal with any problems. Rangers only need to concentrate on our home games. They opposition would sell less tickets and if there is any trouble, it is on their head if and when strict liability is implemented.

The only answer short of them being told to fix it is either they reduce the crowd to 10k or they are fined 2000 x £27. They know the rules and if they cannot comply with it there's only two outcomes.

Let them do as they presently wish and stuck them into our dedicated away area next time they play us at home.

Play them at their own game

What's the dilemma?

Does the 20% rule not say unless safety certificate requirements dictate otherwise?

If they cannot give us 20% due to safety reasons it means there ground is unsafe and tie should be switched to Ibrox and offer them Govan (20%) with payment up front knowing full well they won,t fill it

I repeat my earlier analogy about this being completely different if it was Celtic drawn at Tynecastle.

Celtic would definitely end up receiving at least 20% of the tickets, and their Board would make sure they did. With the full co-operation of the SFA, naturally.

When applying for the safety certificate they should know there's a chance of getting a home draw in the cup with us or even them.WATP

This is scotshit football..No sensible suggestions allowed..thank you

That should be a thread in itself.
Strict liability comes in we would be mental to sell tickets for any away games as we would be liable for absolutely no gain.
Most of these games are shown live and would be gone over by microscope.

As we point out regarding Celtic at Ibrox, our stadium, our rules. Aberdeen should be able to do same. Doesn't matter if it's a cup tie or not, change rules to say "home club shall allocate tickets to reflect crowd safety and segregation". Simple.

Agree.

Just accept it. No club - and I repeat No club - gets 20% at Ibrox. 900 tickets Max.

The precedent has been set and established.

That is the correct answer. It's how petty and sad how Scottish football has become but it has to be done in the future by us too.

If I'm honest, it should have started on Wednesday just there with Kilmarnock, they should have been in the corner and we should just cite safety concerns.

The rules seem to be guidelines and don't really need to adhered too anyway.

It's in the papers today, Aberdeen can't sell their tickets, and may have to close the upper tier of one of their stands. Makes a complete mockery of their safety dilemma.

If we're not getting the extra 2,000 tickets the sheep should be fined £27,000 and it be given to us. That's the split of the gate that we will miss out on.

Yeh but the point is the rules haven’t been changed so who the feck are Aberdeen to decide

Why should Rangers lose out in revenue due to Sheep not having a stadium that meets safety standards?

Rangers should be asking for the difference in unsold tickets and Sheep should be forced to pay us

Thanks very much, I with 14000 others who sit there could watch a replay ( if needed ) on the tv

We should be asking to switch the tie to Ibrox if their ground isn’t up to scratch.

Pretty sure the soy boys in our boardroom provided their own lube
if you had bothered to check it out, you would see it's a safety certificate problem. Nothing to do with our Board or Rangers or even the SFA or for that matter Aberdeen

Not so.

Aberdeen FC entered the national competition in the sure and certain knowledge that their ground would not be able to comply with the competition rules.

As such, the SFA should either compel them to conform, or expel them from the competition.

I did struggle to find the SFA rule that says all rules must be upheld, unless they disadvantage Rangers, and that is exactly what is happening here.

Actually it is true

That is not what the current rules state.

The rules for League and Cup fixtures are clearly different.

Previously, Rangers and Celtic had a gentlemen's agreement that League allocations would apply for cup ties too, but now that is over, and if Rangers had drawn Celtic at Ibrox in the Cup, Celtic would have demanded, and ultimately received, 20%.

They would simply have cited sporting integrity, and stated that it would be the home club's responsibility to adequately deal with safety concerns.
