Throw ins

Mate its a real bug bear of mine, our possession is lost too often. Heard Liverpool have a throw in coach due to the stats being so bad. We do need to improve on this.

What does my mind in, and in particular the Sheep, take a throw in from where the bal went out, then take ten yards up field. As for Foul Throw ins forget it, that Law no longer exists, you coul do an over under arm and the Refs would still allow it.

I beat the drum on this constantly. Our players are static when a throw in is being taken so we often lose possession.

I scream at the TV "move for him" all the time when a throw in is being taken.

Doesn't help when players aren't showing for the ball, it means eventually the guy taking the throw in just has to lump it to someone and effectively hope for the best. As I've said in other threads 're our midfield in particular, players need to be brave and come looking and demanding the ball and have enough confidence in themselves.

Only Morelos and Candeias were showing for them on Wednesday.

Ejaria stands behind his man.

happened at the weekend but whats with halliday's pretend long throws, he cant throw it far enough yet tells players to get further into the box?

Ejaria was forced to take a throw-in in the dying seconds of the sheep game as we didn't have time to faff about. Tom Miller made a comment along the lines of 'it doesn't look like he's taken many of those'. Surely to fuck everyone in our team should be comfortable taking a shy.

You wonder if its one rule that should be abolished and kicked in rather than thrown. Linesmen don't apply the same control as their equivalent at Rugby.

We also don’t mark opposition players that well when they have a shy

We seem to stand off and not mark up and allow opposition to control the ball and play on without being pressured

That has to be addressed too

Exactly this, we get a throw in and it seems like everyone's objective is to get as far away as possible

They do. The guy works freelance and so could have multiple clients at a time. No idea what he charges but doubt Liverpool would object to Gerrard using the guy if we paid him.

Ever since Rory Delap for Stoke I've always said that having a throw in "specialist" in the team is a massive bonus, maybe not essential but definitely an advantage. Every bit as good as a corner or free kick and probably more accurate.

He looked like he had never held a football in his hands before, looked like I must look when someone asks me if I want to hold their newborn.
