this 100%, turn it around on them 'imagine if you threw away the league now' as opposed to we are going to win itRegardless how well we are playing and how confident we feel, I hope the players and management keep that to themselves and don't tell the world how we are going to win.
Results and impressive performances are what put the pressure on the vermin. Boasting before we have beaten them just puts pressure on us.
deffo mate, if he is out it will be disgusting ! we dont really have replacements for murphy and candeias yet.I agree, I reckon we have mibee 5 or 6 guys now who can turn in match winning performances, and Murphy is possibly the best of them.
The Hotel inspector will have a field day and plenty lawsuits to pass to the Police. That hotel will be a knocking up shop, imagine poor Bernadette etc getting Timmy slobbering all over her there!
My worry is, they'll flex their financial muscle even if we win or lose the league.
This is the year to catch them - they look vulnerable and have been complacent with their funds.
Well said mate, you are right yhrn cant just keep signing 3/4 million pound players in the 30k a week, more so now that it will be harder to get into the champions league.I'm glad others mentioned it, when posters commented on worrying about them flexing their muscles financially.....they can't......thats it......this is as high as they go.
They spent big on Brenda, they spent big loaning in PR7 and Musonda, you know the 2 guys who dont play....they spent big on N'tcham on Simunovic on Kouassi on Sinclair, nearly all of these guys possibly bar N'tcham are worthless now and weighing heavy on their astronomical wage budget.
They depend on CL revenue just to break even (which has now become harder to achieve) they cannot go out and spend their money which they probably do have because it would be unsustainable to pile it on top of the dead wood within their club. Either way it doesn't matter, you can only attract a certain level of player to Scotland. For them to bring in better players to pull ahead of us, they need a mass clear out first which isnt easy when players are earning £30k pw for the next 2 and a half years.
This is what happens when you roll the dice and get it so horribly wrong, a mistake I hope we will never make while now under a DOF structure, all the while what have they done? Whored out their "best" assets, while allowing the media and "bloggers" to keep the spotlight on big bad Rangers, while had the roles been reverse we would be galloping off into the sunset, their inferiority complex has had them looking over their shoulders howling "SEVCO" at every opportunity.
55 will come, and it will be the sweetest of them all.
It's not as simple for them to spend this summer as it was in 2016
The new champions route to get into the CL is horrendous, to the extent where seeing Scottish representatives in the group stages in the future will be a very rare occurrence.
If anything, they'll need to cut back.
Wouldn't be surprised it Rodgers left in the summer, and their downsizing began with a Jack Ross or Return of the lemon.
Their wage bill is 100% unsustainable.
Kevin Thomson said in his interview with Si Ferry that they knew Celtic had better players than Rangers did back then. He said they knew the way to beat them was to turn it into a fight and beat them that way. I think this is needed now as well...get in their faces and don't give them a minutes peace.
It wouldn’t be up there with Helicopter Sunday. We can win this league if the players believe in themselves, would be up there with Helicopter Sunday if we managed to pull this off.
It wouldn’t be up there with Helicopter Sunday.
It would be several notches higher than that, given the comparative starting points at the start of this season, and them having had a 14 point lead on us at one point.
55 will be so special but Helicopter Sunday was unique.Fair enough. Helicopter Sunday will never be beaten for me just for the way it happened. Saying that I will celebrate more than I ever have when we win 55!
BlueStu72 I think you should be in doing the pre match talk to the players mate
Don’t get me wrong Helicopter Sunday was one of the best days of my life. Was the day after my birthday so meal and cinema trip already lined up for the evening and it turned a great weekend into an outstanding and very drunk one.Fair enough. Yes this would top helicopter Sunday for me, it would be epic on so many levels.Don’t get me wrong Helicopter Sunday was one of the best days of my life. But, given how far we dropped in 2012, and the season that mob had last season, gap in squad quality at start of this season and the lead they had this season, winning the 2017/18 title would definitely top HS.
That said, if we do it, it may be similar, and certainly down to the final weekend.
SO..... from 30 points behind last season to only 6 (or 9) this, we have achieved feck all? If you cannot see the difference on the park I suggest a wee visit to spec savers. We might not have achieved a trophy just yet but it is coming. We have achieved feck all and a few mentally challengeds starting to take notice does nothing for me, beat them on the 11th and win the Scottish then we can get excited.

I've got to disagree with this. We're playing great football. We bring that to this game we should win. If we get into a battle it'll be 50/50.

We must not become over confident at our opportunity to beat the bheasts. We are playing excellent football at the moment, I'm an old boy now and I can't remember a player with a left foot like Goss,he reminds me of Jim Baxter (you can't say better than that).Young Docherty looks like he's living the dream and can only get better. Remember the Edu last minute goal, the Wilkins volley and the Ehiogu goal, the good times are returning after many years in the gloom. As Levein said (albeit in different circumstance) the Natural Order of things is returning. Never miss a chance to remind the orcs, We are the People.

No doubt their investigations will be conveniently botched. The Hotel inspector will have a field day and plenty lawsuits to pass to the Police.

That's it, they always raise their game for us, especially when we are on form, due a break this time though surely, we're playing well enough.I’ve yet too meet a Tim in real life or work who is worried about losing the league. While they have been honest in acknowledging our vast improvement they still think we lack a mental edge in the bigger games citing Hibs and the last game at the piggery where they feel they were rank and for the taking. I don’t mind this though as there is still an element of underestimating us. What does worry me though is the amount of threads on here and stuff on social media where some of us are getting completely carried away. History has taught me the more cocky you get the far higher chance you end up with egg in your face. I’m looking forward to this one more than any I can remember for a while as we definitely have the players to beat them now. But do do they. So I don’t think anyone will be getting pumped here think it will be close
At least Hyndman turned up, and to be fair played rather well at the Piggery, as did the rest of the team. The difference between this year and last season is that Toral and Hyndman that themselves coming up to an old firm name, whereas Docherty and Goss seem right up for it.
Hopefully the posters on here who feel the need to leak team info remain as tight lipped as the manager.
