Think for Liverpool it would be a rotational thing. He would have got plenty game time as he can play across the front 3 & it would allow Klopp to rest his current front 3, plus if AFCON goes ahead next January then Liverpool will lose both Salah & Mane to it.

Chelsea are building a decent side with them bringing Ziyech in and now most likely Werner. Will be interesting to see who else they bring in.

I genuinely think Liverpool were his first choice. Klopp has done groundwork on him the past year at least, including an alleged video call in April.
Even the wording from the German journalists yesterday hinted that he had been gauging to see if Liverpool were going to meet the clause. He probably got word that they didn't seem like they were so that opened the door to Chelsea, & they've indicated they would meet the clause, give him a big financial package & will make him a key component of the team. Can't blame the lad for getting his head turned, especially as it seems just now there's actually not a choice to make unless Liverpool meet the clause.
