While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully.’

Violent scenes indeed.

Think Lenny might be staying going by that statement.
They've got more active investigations than Scotland Yard

Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by this afternoon’s result, one which has ended our phenomenal run of 35 consecutive cup victories.

While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all Celtic supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully.

For players and a management team, who have given so much in recent years and have delivered 11 consecutive trophies, to require an escort from Celtic Park while being targeted with missiles, is simply unacceptable.

While we understand that only a small number of people were involved in this behaviour, some of the actions this evening, which have obviously left our own players shaken, cannot be condoned in any way.
Investigations? What will the findings be? Separate Entity ultras? Them and investigative rigour are incompatible and everyone knows it.

Call it out.

Another 2 year internal investigation coming up

The replies to that club tweet are a riddy. No contrition, no condemnation, just "sack the c***".

Previously when we were on top, the excuse would be "you're not even good. we're just shite" I'm beginning to hear that more now. Complete denial and it's absolutely glorious.

Notice how they try and spin their statement - 35 Cup victories, 11 Consecutive trophies, own players shaken.

It was the Police that got the grief.

Small Number my arse - Every mentally challenged there was breaking the law

They have a better squad than us i have been told for months now. I was told 6 months ago that scum fans wanted Stevie to stay as He was not very good.
last week i was told that Lennon wasnt a good coach and wasnt getting the best out of the players.
ive been told that our squad isnt very good but Stevie is getting the best out of them and that is why we are winning our games.
I’m so confused about what the experts on scottish football are telling me.
I don't think anyone in the media has made an effort to actually work out what has happened. They've all just gone down the "Bheggars having a bad spell" false narrative.

The gap between us was narrowing anyway but I'm convinced the Covid shutdown basically accelerated everything by in effect jumping everything forward a year so we went past the point where the two teams were about even without it being visible.

Our recruitment is and has been better for the past few windows but to me the biggest change was what happened during shutdown.

I have no doubts our coaches and our players were using every scrap of technology to make the most of the opportunity to actually do the planning and coaching that there normally isn't time for in the schedule. Our guys look so much better clued up on what they should be doing that you'd think they had an extra 3 months on the training ground.

On the other side of the city Lennon's old school attitude was never going to work well in this environment. Clearly they weren't managing even the basics of fitness if Thumb still isn't fit. However, its the memories of all of the old Rogers' disciplines that were holding together the side that really fell apart during lockdown. All the little details (like positioning, defending, moving off the ball, shape) have just evaporated, and Lennon isn't fixing them because he never installed them in the first place. I don't think he even realises what he inherited - he thought they were being shouted to success.

All across Europe I think the better coached, analytics based and tech-savvy teams are out performing the more old-school sides

Can they actually afford to sack him and recruit a new manager/coaching staff?
If they could, they would have done so during the last international break. It would have given their new man a chance to bed in his own ideas and get used to the players. Instead, they are lurching from one disaster to another and it’s not going to change any time soon.
