transfermarkt has a column for how many yellow cards per game, at 2.27 McLean is third lowest after Aitken and Roncone.

The Scottish game seems to be quite dirty in that there is a lot of fouling, so it is probably better stat if a ref gives out more yellow cards on average.

It isn't really cards that are an issue with McLean, it is the constant stop start nature of the games he officiates.
 
the biggest issue with McLean is arrogance, unlike Walsh who's arrogant and usually wrong. McLean is usually arrogant and picky, but gets most of the "big" things right. It's just the desire to be centre of attention, and not letting a game of football break out thats his issue
 
Although no longer a referee I always thought Charlie Richmond to be the most arrogant. He seemed to love showing cards with utter glee.
 
Last game he reffed for us was the 2-1 win over DU at Tannadice in December. That was a niggly, stop start game IIRC.

Against St Mirren, there will no doubt be a large number of fouls, but that’s not really his fault, as long as he stamps his authority early on and gives us the free kicks to which we’re entitled.
 
Along with Dallas, the worst 2 refs in Scotland. Beaton can referee,but is terrified of upsetting the bheasts so is anti us.

Hes another cheat been at it for years ever since media attacked and intimidated him and alan muir for the inverness v celtic semi when they missed a hand ball by meekins of caley with tims 1-0 up.

Yeah i know leagues over but these guys are still seriously motivated to perform for the press and corrupt every game we play.

Surely if he was a cheat he’d have set Morelos off against Dundee United earlier for what was easily a red card offence?
