Tonight’s game postponed

Not read whole thread but not surprised tbh. Stay about 25 miles ne of cowdenbeath and the ground is still solid even after a bit of rain .

So we have a break at new year when nobody knows how the weather is going. If they had brains, they’d be dangerous.

The one thing which is still annoying me.

The pitch and temperature wouldn’t have been any different from 12:00pm yesterday to what it was at 4:45pm.

Luckily we hadn’t left on our bus yet but we were all in the pub and no doubt bears further afield had already travelled.

Shambles.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 30th will be colder than it has been of late. This game wont be played up thereuntil well into February unless they can use heated inflatable covers.

The split has only ever benefited one team, ever the rest are always told it's just one of these things

Match should have been moved to east end park nutrual venue down the road for Cowdenbeath. It’s also a seater stadium with under soil heating and you can double the capacity for the game no brainier simple stuff

The new date of 30th Jan must be in doubt too

Weather forecasted to be crap and minus overnight temps for next 2 weeks

Unless they take action now the 30th will be in doubt again.

Also the long range weather forecast is not looking too good either.

Small clubs with no undersoil heating and grass pitches should need to have better options to insulate the pitch than plastic that they tried at Cowdenbeath last night

Under soil is very expensive over the year even with postponements works out far cheaper per smaller club per annum to take the risk.

The problem only really arises when they draw a larger club in the Scottish Cup in January so over all it’s still financially more sense to go with the plastic covers for the smaller clubs over the season.

But as you correctly say just frustrates us badly now that the rearranged match could be in doubt not good for anyone’s preparations.

If the game on 30th January is postponed what happens next?

Does the game at Pittodrie on 6th get put off to allow the cup tie on that date or do we just play our fourth round match on 9th/10th February which is Round 5 weekend?

If postponed again on 30th January then Monday 4th February or Tuesday 5th February if the clubs agree

If they agree the 5th they have to try again 24 hours later if the pitch will be ok

so Wednesday 6th February then Saturday 9th then back to Mon/Tues/Wed

That rules of the competition

Pittodrie game could well be in doubt then.

Cup games get priority over League games so yes it could go

But they will take the long term weather as well, pointless postponing the Aberdeen game if we knew our can't go ahead.

Also now have to factor in Stenhousemuir v Aberdeen should for any reason that doesn't go ahead next Tuesday then they face the same schedule

Could we not lend them the hot air covers?? Surely we´ll have them somewhere..

Stenhousemuir is an AstroTurf pitch, I’d imagine that game will go ahead.

It’s a plan by the poets to give us a fixture pile up with the refusal to extend the season, they have form
