If Motherwell finish in top 6 we'll have already played them at Ibrox twice and once away so we'd be due them another game at Fir park

That's the case for every other side in the Top 6. We'll have played them all at home twice.

In the top 6, the higher you are at the split the more your schedule be respected - so if teams in 5,6 have to go to the teams in 1,2 for a third time that's their lookout.

Rangers will have Celtic & Hearts away.

Celtic will have Hearts and and us at home.

That would mean the top 3 will all have 2 home and away against each other.

The other teams will have to suck it up.

@rangeral will probably know more but i would assume the SPFL put it in their Ts&Cs and then clubs put it in theirs that there is a possibility of this happening.

Would need to checked each one but I know Celtic sell a 21 game season ticket

As in, could one of them play away from home 3 times and only at home for 1?

no 2/2 split

Happen that way in 2006/07 & 2008/09 it was us that went to Easter Road for 3rd time to balance the fixtures for that to happen

If the split was tonight Rangers in theory would have 5 away games. In reality this can’t happen (even in the SPFL) and two fixtures would have to be switched. Can you imagine the outrage whatever that decision is?

A distinct possibility this could happen. It will be fun.

think hearts came to Ibrox 3 x's and possibly we went to killie 3x's , all because we took Dundee utd's number in draw for fixtures from previous season

Yes the promoted club get the club fixture schedule they replace for us it was Dundee United and cause a few problems for the 1st 2 seasons but it got sorted by not flipping the fixture/s that cause the issue the following season

Funnily enough Celtic are on course for 5 home games - they will have to head back to 2 from 4 from Motherwell, Tyncastle, Leith or the Sheep

No we didn't, played them in mid September at Ibrox and drew 1-1. The played them in late October away and won 6-1.

This is Why the split is an absolute farce.

No love for any other premiership club but it is unfair that one of them face playing us or them or both away from home 3 times a season.

Us and Celtic are always guaranteed same amount of home games, but what would happen if say there was a freak season hearts Aberdeen or Hibs was up there and close to taking the title, would they still have to play one of us 3 times away? It’s a total farce
