Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup Semi-final draw thread today at 12 noon

Every one will be a hard tie for the Colts. Doubt they'll field weaken sides like Wrexham and Solihull.

ICT are challenging for 2nd spot. Raith 2 points off top in L1 (but with a game in hand).

Maybe Partick would be the best draw as they're bottom of the Championship?

Semi-final ties are scheduled for the weekend of February 15/16, with the final due to be played on March 28/29.

Clubs and draw numbers
1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle
2 Partick Thistle
3 Raith Rovers
4 Rangers Colts

It will be shown live on the SPFL YouTube channel

Al, has the 1st team out the draw got Home advantage or is it Neutral venue??

Here's some background on Tunnocks:

"The Uddingston-based biscuit company ships to more than 40 countries worldwide and is very popular in the Middle East, with Iraq and Kuwait, making up around 20 per cent of its total exports.

The family baker recently revealed that Yemen had taken delivery of 300,000 Caramel Wafers in the last 12 months alone.

Caramel Wafers are also a big hit in Kuwait, where they are known as ‘boy biscuits’ after the face of the Tunnock’s boy (who has never been named) on the box."

Did Iraqi soldiers eat snowballs during Desert Storm? All manner of interesting questions this raises.

Tough game but delighted for the Highland bears - is that a free weekend for the first team?

Just checked - at Ibrox v Livi...hopefully young bears on Sunday.

Hardest draw we could have got. Inverness are a big strong team and will be a real test for the colts.

Depends on TV as well

BBC Alba will take one of semi-finals

Last season BT Sport also covered the semi-final and final for the 1st time a simulcast Ross County v East Fife semi-final with BBC Alba whether they do the same this season or able to broadcast the other one isn't known

It was was Friday night and Saturday night for the semi-finals last season S4C showed the Saturday one as Connah Quay Nomads were in that one

Damn. Toughest draw but to win the cup they’ll have to beat ICT anyway, as they would have eased past either Partick or Raith.

thats a pity. WOuld have been great to get a properly organised game at Ibrox for the colts (in terms of getting tickets and the like)

If we get to the final it would likely be against Partick Thistle, so the obvious venue would be Hampden. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a big crowd there if that turns out to be the case.

Depends as the Final falls on International weekend in March

Scotland play 26th March at Hampden and might have a home game on 31st March depends on the draw on Friday and them winning the semi-final as well

Would they use Hampden for the Final?

That's the worst draw possible.

I'd have taken a home tie against anyone but of the away options, that's the one we didn't want.

No. That would make scottish football corrupt.
It would be highly embarassing for them if their tournament was won by a Rangers youth team.
Their best chance of a decent turnout for the final is us being in it.

Can't think what would be embarrassing.

Usually they pick a venue equidistant to both teams’ respective locations.

If it’s the Colts and Thistle in the final then it’d be ridiculous not to have the venue be in Glasgow (if it’s Colts v Raith then it’d probably be Easter Road or Tynecastle), also assuming that they only use stadiums with grass pitches then Hampden or Fir Park are the only real options, possibly St Mirren’s stadium as well.

This is the spfl. They would absolutely hate their trophy to be won by our youths. If you cant understand that you must have been asleep.
