Turnbull's move to celtic could be off

Supposedly needs a minor knee op to clean up some loose cartlidge which would rule him out for 6 weeks. Can see this going through
Any idea why? Injury or wear and tear? The boys only 19 so it doesn't bode well that he is needing a knee op already.

This situation has happened through the mentally challengeds complete disregard for the proper way things should be done in football. Chelsea have publically made it known they will never deal with the mentally challengeds again, west Brom complaining about the same . Norwich now complaining .
If this was us the press would be trying to get us sanctioned for bringing Scottish football into disrepute.
The boy Turnbull I've no bad feelings for his agent should have deleted the filths phone number after the immature tweets they posted. Hope Turnbull find a club down south and has a good career.
Posts saying we should sign him to piss them off ,he's not good enough ,we have better .
Makes me wonder if the filth ever had any intention of signing him or was it a crisis management call to get the groan brigade of their backs after our apparent success in the transfer market to date.
They are in huge turmoil and I think the cork will very very soon be out the bottle with What's happening in the knew dome.
Btw McGregor wants out of the cesspit asap him and popcorn teeth don't even acknowledge each other and Lennon has had to get rid of the sports scientist and nutrition guy not because he doesn't need them it's because he has been told to make drastic cuts for whatever reason.
That and McGregor situation is Fact
Mushroom cloud over the knew dome imminent
we can but hope :))

There is some hysterical pish in this thread I’m afraid, McGregor doesn’t speak to Lennon, they are firing all sorts of analysts and nutritionists and all the rest, they are cost cutting, the players don’t like Lennon, they are skint, it’s all about to implode etc.

Yet they are about to splash over 3 million on a player, they are bidding for another at 7 million?

I can see a situation whereby Turnbull stays at Motherwell, has the op and they have to get him fit before a move to the scum in January. They will do some sort of deal so that no one else can bid. If hes not fit deals off. Just an opinion

This blog is pretty good for going over and breaking down what the advanced stats mean. It’s also fairly impartial. If anything often seems to have a soft spot for us, possibly because several of our players lend themselves to advanced stats.

Confirms that the goals are utterly unsustainable but is very impressed by the rest of his play.

Personally, I’m not at all convinced by some of the stats and they can miss a lot. Watching our games against Motherwell, he didn’t stand out at all and that means more to me than these analytics. I think he’s been bought purely because of the goals and this is very mistaken.

But it’s not true to say that his advanced stats are bad. They are very good. I’m just not sure that they are the be all and end all.
I like MF and Jason’s stuff in particular, but those guys aren’t professionals. Their metrics are interesting but a lot of them are new and lack data. Statsbomb are a more established and professional company.

Would like to stress again that MF’s stuff is still good and I really respect them. A lot of their stuff is worth reading.

See if folk are making up shite rumours about Celtic, who cares, they’ve been doing it to us for years.

Are you saying they will spend 20-30m net on 5 or 6 players Jimmy ?

This to me is about dropping their wage bill & securing a profit on the basis of missing out on the CL Group Stages mate.

I might be wrong, but this is my take.

No he didn’t.

Regardless of what the Villa Chairman said at the time, after Lescott signed for AEK Athens “The 34-year-old defender suffered a detached cartilage in his knee while cycling in his apartment. The injury ruled Lescott out for the remainder of the season.”

Personally I can’t help but think he failed medical given how things turned out at AEK.

I doubt they will spend that, I’m sure they will bring in maybe 4 players though, will spend a fair bit of cash.

They are reneging on the £3m bid for Turnbull, otherwise the deal would have already been done.
They have not yet made any £7m bid for they French guy, this is only a ploy to get the Aberdeen hammer throwers price down.

Even at the peak of 17/18 their net bank balance was 36m. That was just after ST money was mainly in, and a lot of sponsorship cash was in for the following season.
Last year they made a profit due to 19m or so for Dembele, so their net cash at June 19 could be maybe over 40m, which will dip because of that ‘up front cash’ effect again.

I don’t see them spending anywhere close to a net 20m Jimmy, as at the low cash points of the year they wouldn’t be left with that healthy a balance, in their terms.

My guess would be no more than 5m ( 10m maximum ) net spend by them. They might spend 20m but that will mainly be financed by player sales.

Just my thoughts.

CSI Fc have just won 6-1 in a friendly, might make them think they don’t need Turnbull.
Haha, against the Austrian equivalent of yoker athletic! Hopefully though aye, racking up the goals against amateur teams may indeed delude them into thinking that they don't need to strengthen.

Agreed, I’m optimistic things will turn very sour over there this season but based on what we know in reality. There’s enough to laugh at them for that we don’t have to make things nice up on top of it.

If you’d have believed this place Griffiths had burned all bridges and wouldn’t play again, yet he’s just scored for for them today. Lennon wasn’t getting the job due to turning up pished, he’d fallen out with Kennedy yet he’s now his AM etc. The “they did it first attitude” is laughably childish and I personally prefer not to emulate the behaviours of mentally challengeds.

What we do know is they are activity trying to punt their top players and have already lost some key experienced players who they’ve yet to replace despite their season starting soon. They’ve also missed some of their key targets already. Things are not all well there; they have enough issues without having to resort to making ourselves look daft posting rumours like wee schoolgirls.

This is true, but folk on here are posting it as fact, despite the fact it is anything but:D
How do you know it’s not fact?

It is clear Lennon has poor man-management skills; the West Brom outburst , plus the hasty departure of Weah shows that Lennon has not matured or mellowed or whatever other false claims he has made about being a changed man; you only need ask Lee Dempster.

As for their splashing some cash, Lawwell will be jumping off the Kingston Bridge if he doesn’t move on Tierney, Ntcham or McGregor (or all three).

I think it’s fairly obvious what went on and why it was left as it was mate.

A 19 year olds knees surely shouldn’t need tidying up

We had Rossiter on the treatment table for the best part of 2 years.

At the end of the day if the prognosis is that he’d make a full recovery after the surgery you’d be looking at reducing the fee by whatever costs are incurred in the treatment/rehabilitation. The stumbling block may be that the clubs insurers won’t back up his signing.

Perhaps Motherwell should put him through the op, play him until Xmas to show that he’s recovered & then look to sell him again.

They're really useful predictive tools. In America, you will notice that a lot of the fantasy sports community are also heavily into analytics because they're so predictive.

Yeah but....
Agree with this to an extent but American Sports particularly Football and Baseball is stacked stats wise. Offense and defense specialists that do very particular jobs and so have easily tracked numbers. Hockey and Basketball is s little harder track given the players on the ice or boards at any one time do play offense and defense. Soccer harder yet given the lack of constantly changing lines and personnel.
There’s something worthwhile in it though.

Lennon's "people" played a blinder with that one.

By all accounts he completely lost his shit (and not for the first time).

The guy is a complete liability, regardless of the bum-rubbing he gets off the local media.

13 pages talking about a potential deal for them. Jesus.

As others have said, can we not just concentrate on ourselves? For all we improved last season and we laughed at their loss of Rodgers and employment of Lennon, they still won another treble and finished 9 points ahead of us.

Lennon or no Lennon, we’ve got some catching up to do again this season.

All the ‘this is our year’ chat just sets us up for failure again if we don’t deliver. Let’s just get our business done, focus on ourselves and take it game by game. If we do that and we keep picking up 3 points, there will be plenty of time to laugh at these cunts thereafter.

Part of the equation is to keep an eye on our rivals though no?

Whilst they continue to downsize, balls up transfers and generally fall from grace, Rangers fans are entitled to enjoy a wry smile.

I really don’t think many Rangers fans are unaware of the challenge ahead.

I think it all hinges on them getting CL qualification and the £35m that comes with it. Failure to do so, they need to sell to balance the books.

I was on the runway at Manchester airport craping my pants as it was first time on a plane and the wife and myself were flying to Orlando. Had an English Sun to read acting the big man all relaxed (was I fook) 3rd page from back on sports pages a small paragraph stating Maurice Johnson would sign with Glasgow Rangers later this week. Told the mrs look at these silly English press clowns can’t even get Scottish team signings correct. The date was Monday July 6th 1989. Phoned home on the Thursday and my dad said you,ll never guess who we have signed? Told him who it was, he asked how the fek I knew? Told him it was headline news on all the Yankee news stations and they said all hell had broke lose in Scotland:))

The date was Monday,10th, July, 1989.

Yours sincerely,

Pedantic Pete. ;-)

I definitely typed follow follow in to Google, but for some fùcking reason I appear to have ended up on kerrydale street forum.

Seems that way anyway

It is yeah, but some are going on as if that’s them done for and we’ll walk the league this season. I don’t think it’s going to be quite as easy as that mate.

Listen childbear name calling like that best left for playground.
Timfool, will play a handfull of games for Celtic, spend 2 seasons on the bench then find himself on loan to a bottom half Championship team, before returning north to sign for Hibs, "career" over, the end.
Don't get all hung up about it, he's just luckier than he is skillful.

It's got Scoff Allan written all over it!

It hasn't gone away, you know.

I'm pretty sure it will resurface in the next few months.
