U-17s

Highlight of the game today was seeing them doing a well deserved lap of honour in a full Ibrox at half time.

Great achievement for them and what a feeling that will be for them. Brilliant to see and all the best to them in the future.

Having watched their games in the tournament, it was refreshing to watch proper football, not just from them but from the opposition too. Games with good football, very little professionalism ( diving, hassling the referee, time wasting, etc). 100% effort and no shortage of skill either. It was enough to put you off watching the crap that gets dished up as senior football most weeks.

A massive difference between them and our first team, is that they made their shots count. Particularly in the quarter and semi, the vast majority were on target and at least tested the keeper.

Yip.

Also, they were very direct at times, driving through the centre of the opposition defence. They looked good in all areas from the defence through to the forwards and even the subs when they came on contributed too.

Our under 17 team are being coached to express themselves take on a man and be more direct and shoot. Our first team could learn a few lessons by being coached with our youth coaches.
